The hotel's breakfast is good, that is, the variety is too small, the price is small, the hot chocolate is super delicious, highly recommended. The hotel is just opposite the high-speed rail station. It was chosen for the convenience of the train, but the surrounding security is normal and avoid going out alone at night.

It is not far from the station but if you already got a ticket can hop on the bus as a bus stop is very close. Staff is very nice as we checked in afterva check in time, she was still waiting for us. Room and facilities also in a good condition.

I was a bit worried because it was near the station, but the security was thorough with double doors, and the card key was continuously registered, so the security was great!! Willing to use one more next time

Stayed in hotel 15th July. Family of 5. Had requested adjoining rooms if possible. Arrived after 9. Girl at desk was extremely busy with queue out door. This didn't stop 1 or 2 guests cutting in to avail of fans. Rooms not together which meant husband had to stay in one room with one child and me with 2 others. We were on 4th floor, in a small pokey room, in a heat wave without air conditioning (which was advertised). I asked night reception for fan which had been given out to other guests at time of check in, no longer available. He advised he could open window....which opened the whole window outward....I advised I didn't feel safe doing that with 2 children on 4th floor that and mosquito bite and noise from outside from party goers as is in middle of town. Couldnt sleep a wink. His advice was to request reimbursement which I did. Took hotel few days answer and gave alternate email which isn't sending. Overall very poor experience. Budget hotel....exactly what it says on the tin....have no expectations

The Mercure hotel is conveniently located opposite the main train station of Bordeaux, Saint Jean. There is also a tram stop at this location. From the airport you can either take the shuttle bus for 8€ which goes direct from the airport to the train station or you can use the tram from the airport with 1 change at €1.70 The hotel has been recently renovated within the traditional historic building taking up a corner site. The ground floor is occupied by a bar bistro which always seemed popular and had good reviews. There was also a nice lounge sitting area which extended into the breakfast area. There is no reception in the traditional sense but instead a station which was always attentively attended to. The decoration was very modern with good attention to detail and plush furnishings. As an Accor member I was graciously upgraded from a classic to a superior room. The room was a good size and had a separate seating area in a sunken part of the room accessed by a few steps. This allowed the benefit of the full length historic window to flood light into the room. The bed was extremely comfortable and was overlooked by a large screen TV. There was ample lighting options around the bed and usb ports in the side light. The room came with tea and coffee facilities and free water which could be refilled at the water station in the corridor. The bathroom was bright and modern with large walk in shower. The decor was modern and elegant and to a four star standard. It should be noted that only the privilege rooms come with a fridge and coffee machine. The WiFi had good open connectivity with speeds of up to 50mbs. Overall this is a very pleasant hotel with easy access via tram to the rest of Bordeaux. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room comfortable and good value for money.

All the staff are very nice and friendly. The hotel and room are very clean. If this hotel provides a kettle, a couple of cups and spoons, and a fridge, it will be perfect. 10-15 mins walk from the train station. Next to the hotel, there is a tramway stop and a little supermarket. We are considering a next trip to Bordeaux. We may book this hotel again.

Nur eine kurze Nacht in Bordeaux sollte es werden. Am Abend, nach einer langen Autofahrt spät ankommen und dann am nächsten Vormittag ebenso schnell frühstücken, anschließend ins Stadion und es geht schon weiter. Idealerweise hat man noch einen Parkplatz dabei und spart sich somit nach langer Fahrt noch eine nervenaufreibende Parkplatzsuche in der Innenstadt. Irgendwie erinnerte ich mich, dass ich vor etwa 30 Jahren bei einer Frankreich-Reise mal in einigen Formel 1 Hotels Station gemacht hatte. Damals noch extrem günstig. Und irgendwie führte diese etwas verklärte und sehr verblasste Erinnerung dazu, dass ich das Formel 1 Hotel buchte. Vorsichtshalber allerdings ein Cabrio-Zimmer, also mit eigenem Badezimmer. Diesen Aufpreis war es mir auf jeden Fall wert. Nach 14 Stunden Fahrt dort abends gegen 22 Uhr angekommen, war erst mal alles wie erwartet. Es sollte doch hoffentlich allen Gästen klar sein, dass es sich hier um eine Hotelkette handelt, die vorzugsweise in Industriegebieten ansässig ist. Wer hier ein umfangreiches Angebot an Restaurants und weiteren Ausgehmöglichkeiten in Laufnähe erwartet, hat im Vorfeld nicht aufgepasst. Also, schnell das Auto abgestellt und rein ins Hotel. Tatsächlich war um die späte Uhrzeit noch ein Mitarbeiter vor Ort, der den Check-In erledigte. Bis hierhin alles ok. Das Zimmer ansich war dann eher untere Kategorie. Wir waren im EG, wenn man das Fenster öffnete schaute man auf tausende von Zigarettenstummeln und Abfall. Also besser Fenster zulassen, wenigstens funktionierte bei hochsommerlichen Temperaturen die Klimaanlage. Das Bad war ein relativ großer, aber vollkommen steriler und weiß gekachelter Raum, hatte etwas von einem Krankenhaus. Mit den Fotos, die wir vorher auf der Internetseite gesehen hatten, hatte es leider nichts zu tun. Naja, eine Stunde später machten wir die Augen zu und am nächsten Morgen reisten wir wie geplant nach dem Frühstück wieder ab. Das Frühstück war genau, wie ich es mir vorgestellt hatte. Nicht besser und nicht schlechter. Fazit: wir haben zu zweit (ein Erwachsener, ein Kind) insgesamt 72 € für diese eine ÜN und 2 x Frühstück bezahlt. Das ist für das erhaltene Paket am Ende einfach zu viel Geld. Hätte ich irgendwas zwischen 40 und 50 € bezahlt, dann wäre das für die Leistungen ok gewesen. Aber für 72 € übernachte ich auch in inhabergeführten Pensionen, habe ein ordentliches Handtuch im Bad und bekomme morgens ein frisches Frühstücksei. Von daher leider keine Empfehlung.

Reception: English lady at reception was very assistive and pleasant. Room / facilities: Room number 608 is on the 6th floor and is an executive room. Not sure why it is considered executive, as it only appeared to be larger than other rooms (based on the floor, layout diagram on the entry door). We did not use the flat screen TV as there are virtually nil english speaking tv channels on French TV. The king bed is comfortable, but the 4x square European pillows are not to my liking. The executive room was not as clean as i would expect, as there is black mould in the clothes hanging space, a mop head is provided (no handle attached), the bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans have years of dust built up around the edges where the fan unit connects to the wall. The room walls badly need a paint and freshen up, as there are black marks on the walls from the bedside tables. Water streaks run down the bathroom walls. There executive room has no daily clean, obtaining fresh towels cost extra per request. Depending on your length of stay, to ask for the room to be cleaned floor vacuum is an additional €9. We saw the cleaner on our floor one morning, however after we returned after 4 hours, the floor hall way was not even vacuumed. The towels provided fell brand new, as the tags are not frayed, they smell and feel fresh from the store, UNWASHED.. I have to take the rubbish out. Our booking was for two persons, yet the hotel only provided 1x bottle of water, additional bottles were at a cost. The kitchenette has a bar fridge, cook top, microwave, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, but no towel to dry dishes, no chopping board nor a plug for the sink. Well equipped kitchen MINUS the bare basics. You have to request a dish wash kit from reception, this dish wash liquid in the kit is as runny as water, does not form any suds and will only last 1 - 2 washes. Using the liquid soap in the bathroom was more effective. The bathroom has yellow coloured stains on the silicone around the base of the tiles, the shower tiles appear to be dirty and need a good scrub. This may be the design of the tiles. The toilet could use a good dose of beach or domestic cleaner (domestos) and a scrub to clean the “s” bend of the toilet, as there are black marks visible in the bowl. The studio apartment does have a self control air conditioning and windows that opens fully. The Air Con was on at our arrival and made it very comfortable to enter the room, after a hot walk from the train station. Laundry: None on site, but a Self service coin laundry with washers and dryers is a 2 minute walk on the street corner. Wash cost €5 for 8kg. Dry is available. Parking: I believe parking is available on site, for an additional charge, but this was not utilised during our visit. Wifi: Fast and reliable. Email address required for login. Breakfast: Available at an additional daily charge. This was not utilised during my stay. Conclusion: Great location as the hotel is 65

À fuir, J'ai réservé 1 nuit dans une chambre considérée par l'accueil et le site internet comme surclassée dans un hôtel 3 étoiles. La salle de bain est entièrement équipée comme dans un Ehpad ou hôpital, ce qui n'est pas mentionné dans l'annonce, et peut provoquer à l'inverse de l'angoisse et de l'anxiété face à ce type d'équipement. Je souhaite changer de chambre mais l'hôtel est complet, et le remboursement impossible puisque pas fait avant 18h. L'hôtel ne me trouve aucune autre solution à me proposer, me laissant seule à 22h dans une zone industrielle. Je suis très étonnée de ce type de prestation venant d'un hôtel 3* d'autant plus que ceci était un voyage d'affaire pour lequel ma société avait réservée d'autres chambres pour d'autres salariés pour une quinzaine de nuits…

____________________ LA SITUATION GÉOGRAPHIQUE ---------- Bonne situation avec le tram à proximité directe pour aller dans le centre de Bordeaux. Pas loin également de la gare de Bègles. Autrement quelques commerces/restaurants à côté. Cela peut donc être un hôtel à sélectionner pour être pas loin du centre sans dépenser trop, ou pour aller au stade Matmut Atlantique car ligne directe. ____________________ L'HOTEL ET L'ACCUEIL ---------- Standard B&B à tout point de vue, très bon accueil, checkin rapide. Il y a un coin pour se poser avec distributeurs et micro-ondes. Ascenseurs pour accéder aux chambres. ____________________ LA CHAMBRE ---------- Chambre et salle de bain plus petits que la moyenne. La chambre dispose d'une TV, petite penderie, bureau et est climatisée ce qui est un bon point. La salle de bain est comme dit petite, en plus la douche est assez mal conçue comme tous les B&B, cela mouille partout après une douche. L'ensemble est propre, literie confortable. ____________________ LA RESTAURATION ---------- Un service de petit déjeuner est proposé dans la salle commune sous forme de buffet sucré/salé, du standard B&B très bon, viennoiseries, gâteaux, pains, oeuf brouillé, bacon, saucisse. ____________________ RAPPORT QUALITE/PRIX ET LES SERVICES ---------- Rapport qualité/prix pouvant être cher en fonction de la période. Parking privé payant, mais le personnel devrait faire plus attention aux extérieurs ! L'entrée du parking sert d'emplacement pour les poubelles de l'immeuble semble-t-il avec de nombreux restes de nourriture par terre, il faut marcher dedans pour aller composer le code du parking, inacceptable. Le wifi fonctionne très bien. ____________________ EN RÉSUMÉ ---------- Chambres beaucoup plus petites que la moyenne mais tout est propre. TB petit déjeuner, espace pour manger si besoin avec distributeurs. Gros problème de propreté sur les extérieurs, nombreux déchets de nourriture par terre juste devant l'entrée du parking privé, semble être l'emplacement des poubelles pour ramassage.
