"We were extremely fortunate to have found Hotel des Quinconces. The two days and nights we stayed were the most pleasurable hotel experience we've ever had. The building and decor are beautiful. Modern and clean design has been incorporated, while leaving the warmth and structure of the original Bordelaise home built in 1834. The location is excellent with the city tram junction at Place des Quinconces a brief walk from the hotel. There are so many thoughtful features in the room design; lots of useful storage and closet space, plenty of handy surfaces to lay your things, an automatic light at your feet as you step to or from the bathroom, and more. The bathroom is enormous. There are two sinks in the long counter, a free-standing bathtub, and a shower space measuring about 5 by 8 feet. The best feature of the Hotel is the staff. Never have we felt so welcomed and appreciated as we did by Alice, Axel, Layla, Matti, Felix, and Mathilde. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure our every need was anticipated and met. For example, we came back from a day-long wine tour of Saint-Émilion to find wine glasses and an opener waiting in our room. The experience was so good, we are thinking of planning a longer visit to Bordeaux just to stay at Hotel des Quinconces again!"
