We stayed in ‘superior studio’ for 2 nights during heatwave. The room was air conditioned, clean with a comfortable bed, nice little kitchen, shower room. The room was on third floor and involved a walk up from the second floor on external staircase and across a little bridge. This was a bit of a nuisance if we got to the ground floor and realised we’d forgotten something in the room - didn’t do it twice! Hotel is really well located just a couple of minutes to tram stop and with parking on site. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

After cycling for 3 months across France FirstName was an absolute pleasure to spend our last days recovering and as a base to see the city. Our room was spectacular, the bed was an absolute delight to sleep in and the bathroom and wardrobe storage were magnificent. The heated mirrors in the bathroom were a real touch of class that we welcomed. Breakfast and dinners were top-notch, we just loved everything the hotel had to offer. Check-in staff worked well above any expectations we may have had. They helped us when we had bicycle transport issues and when I cut my finger they worked tirelessly with arranging for the correct hospital and transport. They all communicated with each other and the various shifts seamlessly. The staff in the restaurant area along with the chef were also outstanding and super helpful.

The fully refurbished Novotel Bordeaux Centre Gare Saint Jean is near the Tauzia tram stop, 450m from the train station and the Place de la Bourse. It is ideal for your business or family trips, with meeting rooms and a friendly laid-back bar overlooking the restaurants lovely patio. We arrived at the Novotel gare saint jean, Bordeaux with realistic expectation of a four stars hotel experience. Comfortable room with excellent costumer service. We were unfortunately in for a surprise. We were greeted by an intense smell of sewer in the room. A very small toilet where we could barely sit with what looked like an old western saloon door. Toilet brush missing: After informing the reception, the stuff brought us a dirty toilet brush at the reception and hand it to us to carry back to our room. Room cleaning: We were presented with the option to pick the room cleaning days at our arrival. We picked every other day and for some reason the intermittence was totally misunderstood. The room was not cleaned when agreed. Once again we went to report to the reception. We were promised that someone was at least going to empty our trash can, bring a clean set of fresh towels and two vouchers for free drinks at the hotel bar because the cleaning time was far gone which we accepted. Unfortunately stuff never showed up to pick the trash nor with the set of fresh towels or vouchers that evening. Bath drainage malfunctioning: Clearly not functioning properly. Water filling the tiny shower floor which is about 0.80 inc or 2 cm and if not shut immediately to wait for the slow drainage to actually happen, the water will spill over. Beside that, the shower head covered with limestone etc… At the end the management gifted us a package of their body care product for the inconvenience. If hotel stars still mean anything I do not believe we had a 4 stars or even a 3 stars hotel experience.

Arrived ok, no problem so far. Checked in, pay up front - ok, not unheard of… Got to the room, the first thing we saw was a tatty bathroom door. It’s obviously been knocked, and the paintwork damaged, also there was water damage to the bottom. This was explained when we used the shower and the spray went over the floor and pooled below the door. The promised bathtub was included, although no plug. Try having a bath without a plug!! The shower was a hand held spray hooked to the wall at waist height. Bizarre. The mirror was damaged at the bottom, the whole room was rather neglected, although it was clean, so these pieces of damage are obviously being ignored. The bedroom had a comfortable bed, although the room was rather dark and poorly lit. Reading wasn’t easy. There was one armchair, in a room for two people (?), a dining room chair and a wooden stool. Unusual mix. The armchair seat was heavily stained (?!). Not tempting to sit in! Quite why we had two fridges in the room was not apparent. Not many sockets were available, and we could only use the kettle by plugging it in under the television. Which was fine as we couldn’t use the television as the remote had no batteries. The hospitality tray was minimally stocked, and when we asked for milk we were told we could go and buy some as the hotel had no milk. Although there was some at breakfast the following day. No doubt we could have bought new batteries too. When paying €300 for two nights, surely a few tablespoons of milk is not a big ask? It was disappointing that the staff couldn’t be bothered to help with such a small request. Breakfast was ok, no hot food available and it was self service. There was a button operated hot drinks machine, with milk available, mini croissants and pains au chocolat, artisan breads, muesli type mix, fruit, yoghurts, one variety of ham and some very bland cheese. The room felt a bit like a hostel dining room with a big animal mural on the wall and the constant drip from an air conditioning unit onto a towel on the floor. The tables and chairs were clean, but the staff - again - uninterested. A good 20 min walk into Bordeaux, which is a beautiful city. Plenty of good places to eat and pleasant staff there. We will definitely come back to Bordeaux, but definitely not to the Victoria Garden!

The hotel is beautifuly maintained, the staff is great. Continental reakfast at 10 euros is ok but fruits could be improved a bit. I was grateful that they were willing to go find me gluten free bread. Perhaps you could add a few more items to the continental breakfast. Guests should be aware of the location of this hotel. It is a long walk to downtown and while there is a tram within 15 minute walking distance, we did not feel very safe in this area. Not recommend you walk around after dark.

If you don’t have a car this place is not for you. It’s out of the way for public transport. There are quite a few restaurants dotted about within a five minutes drive but not really anything within walking distance. There’s a big shopping centre too with an Auchan for supplies. We had a car and used this hotel for a base for visiting lots of different cities, towns etc and was brilliantly located for us. The plentiful and free parking was an extra bonus. Check in was easy and staff friendly. Room was bigger than expected and clean. There was plenty of utensils, plates etc to use in the small kitchenette. Everything was a bit dated but in good order. The only two problems were that there was no shower curtain/screen and the fuse box on the wall had no cover so looked ugly. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was a good place to use as a base. Overall the place was perfectly fine for the price as long as you aren’t using public transport. Nothing special but worth the price paid

We have stayed here before, around three years ago, and it was a tired hotel then, so even more so now does it need modernising. The good bits first: the bed was comfortable and the receptionist supplied me with two extra pillows upon request. The not so good bits: the room needs a complete overhaul. The fabric is old and grim. The floor needed a good clean. The bathroom fittings are rusted from age and, my goodness, the toilet would benefit from a gallon of bleach being thrown down it and left for a week. Gross, I think is the word. (Room 102). In these days of Covid-19 precautions, people in France are required to wear masks in hotels, restaurants etc and there were notices advising the regulation. However, the receptionist was not wearing one when we booked in. He was wearing one the following morning, but under his chin! Again, because of Covid-19 we expected the breakfast trays to be made up for as we chose our items. No, the items were still displayed on plates and baskets, for everyone to breathe over them and touch them as they made their selection. Bear in mind that many guests did not have masks on and were not prompted to wear them. Well, when the receptionist doesn't wear one, or wears it improperly, what can he say? Sadly our last stay here at a Premiere Classe (and we are fans of the chain), which is in a superb area for visiting the beautiful Bordeaux.

We were travelling from the UK to Portugal with our two dogs and this hotel was great for an overnight stop. We stayed here twice; once on the way and again on the way back. For the return journey, we were allocated a ground floor room overlooking the back of the hotel, which was just perfect for us. The hotel was very easy to find, had secure free parking and a small grass area for our dogs to exercise. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom had a great shower. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There was a drinks machine and vending machine in the reception area along with a microwave that you could use. The only downside was that there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room; not a problem for us as we had brought our own kettle, mugs, tea bags and milk. We were very pleased we chose this hotel and will definitely stay again.

GGuest UserLocation: Initially, I was concerned about the location since the hotel isn’t located in or near Bordeaux downtown. However, it was a non-issue due to available transportation options and quick tram ride to the main attractions in Bordeaux. The tram station is a short walk to/from the hotel. We had no issues getting back to the hotel via the tram even at late (December) night. Hotel staff and rooms/facility: The hotel staff did their best to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. They all spoke fluent English. We had two rooms and both of them were very comfortable. I did not have any issues with the noise from either side of the rooms (5th floor) we were staying. The hotel is pretty new and nicely laid out for a comfortable stay. Good size high quality bottled water has been placed in the room by the housekeeping daily and we really appreciated that. Breakfast: Breakfast was great and had a lot of options. The restaurant has a very nice commercial grade automatic espresso machine at your disposal and I was able to make any coffee myself. Overall, we all enjoyed staying at the Renaissance Bordeaux and the city of Bordeaux. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Bordeaux.

GGuest UserWe visited Bordeaux for the first time for a family wedding. I must say the location of the hotel was excellent, cleanliness of a very high standard, but most of all very friendly, helpful and efficient staff. The breakfast was nice, albeit at €15 each not the cheapest for a family of 5. The reception staff booked our taxis for the airport and the chateau for the wedding with little fuss. The taxis are a little expensive but that’s not the hotels fault, and most taxi drivers (not all) drive with their mobile in their hand, so be prepared for a potentially scary ride. I would recommend this hotel for a short break, we were there for 5 nights, we had two rooms on different floors, so would try and get them close together if staying again.

GGuest UserSupernice and supergood hotel, marvelous room and central downtown location. Normally i book rooms in the 100-150E range. I decided to go a bit more luxurious and i tremendously enjoyed it. Im an easy going traveler, i was i Bordeaux to assess architecture and urbanism projects. I rented a bike to go around the city. The hotel staff is very naturel an friendly, no rush to empty your wallet but rather making sure you have a great time... Best hotel experience i had i a lon time travelling the globe. GGuest UserVery good spacious layout, and even came with a kitchenette, especially useful when staying on sun or public holiday where restaurants are not opened, like in my case. Great location and I can access tram B and A less than 100m away. I stayed for 5 nights, and the only issue I had was that the bed if on the loft, which has poor air circulation, so I kept waking up due to stuffiness and sometimes in sweat even though the main floor was a cool 18 degrees and outside is about 12 degrees. If they would install a fan in the loft that will help a lot. Otherwise, a great place to recommend!

The location is acceptable, in the central area of Bordeaux, 500 meters walk after getting off the airport bus, the gate entrance is on the side of the street, easy to find, arrive at more than 10 o'clock in the evening, there are many people at the entrance of the bar, and feel safe. The rooms are small, with good hygiene, comfortable bedding and average breakfast. The front desk was good, and the taxi was booked, a better experience.

EEduardoThe experience at the hotel was great. Firstly, we were apprehensive about the location, however, the metro in front of the hotel made everything so easy and accessible. One thing that caught our attention was the lack of a reception desk. I thought this would limit the service, however, it turned out to be a simple and welcoming service provided by efficient and kind employees. Breakfast was also very positive, both for the variety and quality of the food. What I missed was a little more amenities, like a minibar in the room and slippers, for example. Another thing that left something to be desired was the ”city view” which was a very high window to observe, very different from what was expected from the room description. And what I liked most was the room being extremely comfortable and welcoming, with good finishes and a very well chosen set of colors and lights. The bathroom was excellent and had excellent cleaning service. And the bed... the bed... was perfect and exceeded expectations in terms of size, comfort and quality of the sheets and pillows. It was an excellent stay.

GGuest UserIt is close to the station, easy to get there. The small hotel and reception would close after 20:00, you should have asked to hotel for the PIN code In advance, because the door will be closed unless you push. It is better to ask the hotel directly, not via online booking services. Small hotel and minimum amenities that you should understand beforehand, it is just a sleeping place.

GGuest UserReception: English lady at reception was very assistive and pleasant. Room / facilities: Room number 608 is on the 6th floor and is an executive room. Not sure why it is considered executive, as it only appeared to be larger than other rooms (based on the floor, layout diagram on the entry door). We did not use the flat screen TV as there are virtually nil english speaking tv channels on French TV. The king bed is comfortable, but the 4x square European pillows are not to my liking. The executive room was not as clean as i would expect, as there is black mould in the clothes hanging space, a mop head is provided (no handle attached), the bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans have years of dust built up around the edges where the fan unit connects to the wall. The room walls badly need a paint and freshen up, as there are black marks on the walls from the bedside tables. Water streaks run down the bathroom walls. There executive room has no daily clean, obtaining fresh towels cost extra per request. Depending on your length of stay, to ask for the room to be cleaned floor vacuum is an additional €9. We saw the cleaner on our floor one morning, however after we returned after 4 hours, the floor hall way was not even vacuumed. The towels provided fell brand new, as the tags are not frayed, they smell and feel fresh from the store, UNWASHED.. I have to take the rubbish out. Our booking was for two persons, yet the hotel only provided 1x bottle of water, additional bottles were at a cost. The kitchenette has a bar fridge, cook top, microwave, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, but no towel to dry dishes, no chopping board nor a plug for the sink. Well equipped kitchen MINUS the bare basics. You have to request a dish wash kit from reception, this dish wash liquid in the kit is as runny as water, does not form any suds and will only last 1 - 2 washes. Using the liquid soap in the bathroom was more effective. The bathroom has yellow coloured stains on the silicone around the base of the tiles, the shower tiles appear to be dirty and need a good scrub. This may be the design of the tiles. The toilet could use a good dose of beach or domestic cleaner (domestos) and a scrub to clean the “s” bend of the toilet, as there are black marks visible in the bowl. The studio apartment does have a self control air conditioning and windows that opens fully. The Air Con was on at our arrival and made it very comfortable to enter the room, after a hot walk from the train station. Laundry: None on site, but a Self service coin laundry with washers and dryers is a 2 minute walk on the street corner. Wash cost €5 for 8kg. Dry is available. Very Good
Kkrustyburger666I paid £38 for a night through a third party website. The room was small but comfortable. The tv was extremely small. The bathroom could use a renovation admit is slightly dated. However, the location of the hotel is perfect and the sound proofing was good enough. I would come again.

NNabil FHello, I'm going to write in English and French. Here's the pro about apparteo (Good location next to the bassins a flot, really nice view during my stay which you could see a beautiful sunset 🌇 , bus station just in front of the hotel and not too far away the tram station cité du vin which is only 5 Stations away from Center of Bordeaux, you have also Les hangars not far away which is one of the most peaceful place to walk day or night, I mean Apparteo position is actually really good, everything looked clean except a few things but doesn't bother, it is a also a residence of students) Now about the cons, if someone didn't help me, I couldn't have entered the building nor having access to do the check-in, in fact you need a pin code that I Never received which the card of your room is inside with other card which can be a little bit odd, anyway can have access to it, the office was close each time I try to check someone no matter the time, the smell in the bathroom was really unpleasant but I could manage to get over it from opening every window and little perfume, but it come back if I keep the door close of the bathroom The table where I was eating was moving a lot, but honestly other than those few cons that can be managed, it was a really pleasant stay, I enjoyed a lot and could sleep really well, calm, peaceful, nice view I highly recommend this place as the few cons can be solved easily, just wished to see someone at the reception and it would have been even better. Peace ✌️🕊️
