Dirty place and old, stinky too . They gave me an old room and I complained it wasn’t what I had seen in the website so they move me to a different floor with a new bedroom but still smell like 💩. Don’t book it at this location if you are smart . The ladies managers are very rude -no education .

Hotel Mercure Bordeaux le Lac (Rue du gran Barail, Bordeaux) This hotel is located on the outskirts of the city of Bordeaux, it is classified as a 4-star hotel, however, I think that with three stars it would be better classified, I will base my opinion appreciation with the following. The hotel itself is beautiful, it has a well-furnished lobby, with many works of art (paintings and sculptures) in different rooms of the hotel. The room in general with poor toilet, we had a double room, they gave us a double bed and a sofa bed that looked more like a camp cot, sunken in the middle, impossible to rest in that bed, the curtain of the room broken in one of its extremes. The breakfast buffet was the biggest disappoin**ent, poor, industrialized fruit juices, little of everything and the strangest thing was the bread had to be cut and brought to the table, there were no individual breads, although we tried to take the bread with a napkin, not all of them did. The same, this causes an unforgivable lack of hygiene for a four-star hotel, in addition, the butter (butter) was communal, there was a bread of butter for all of us who had breakfast, there were not those small containers that are served in all hotels . In short, a hotel that has nothing four stars, generously only three stars, a hotel to which I would never return.

The hotel, despite its age, is superb. It is currently more or less under renovation. Indeed the rooms are large but the bathroom, even if it seems to have been redone, was poorly designed. The bathroom door is damaged by water, the toilet flush is not competent, the hand shower is not great. In short, the television is good, several channels available. The restaurant apparently is not open on Sundays but exceptionally it was open the day we came. It was full, the food is good and the price is correct for the restaurant. I recommend. On the other hand, you have to open it on Sunday evening, there will always be people there... don't understand the house policy... otherwise the restaurant is great. The breakfast is top notch. We arrived around 9am, there was everything... I also recommend this part. In short, despite the work in progress and the years of the hotel, I recommend it and for my part I will come back but this time to try the swimming pool which looks superb (closed during our stay)

Hotel currently undergoing tasteful renovation. The entire staff is very pleasant. Very well equipped room including good bedding. The restaurant offers a satisfying and pleasant menu from starters to desserts. Large selection of products for breakfast. Hotel to escape I have just been scammed twice in 2 days the first because I was allowed to reserve a suite under construction and I was warned the same day that it would not be available. The 2nd surprise concerns two 8-night reservations in my name prepaid. An employee canceled 1 of the 2 rooms thinking it was a mistake without notifying me. Forced to leave this hotel without even being able to get a refund this evening. Shame on this establishment and its manager unable to travel to manage this reimbursement of almost 1000 euros. Never stay at this establishment again
