This hotel was idyllic. We have traveled to amazing places and have been fortunate to stay in many 5-star locations. We rarely will try a boutique hotel but we are so very glad we did. The fact that it was once the US Consulate during WWII made the intrigue too great. The elegant beauty of the rooms, the extremely helpful staff, and hanging out with the owner over a glass of fabulous wine made this stay one of the highlights of our wine touring trip. I have to also add that we tried to get into a Michelin 2-star restaurant and Raphael pulled strings and got us into Mason Nuvelle. I will tell everybody how this culinary experience was better than French Laundry in Napa! thank you Raphael

We made a reservation for 2 nights at this hotel for late August, but the day before I was taken ill and we had to return to London where I had emergency surgery. We notified the hotel the day before we were to arrive; I had hoped they would let us cancel but they did not. Most hotels only charge you for the first night if you need to cancel fur such an emergency. I had hoped they would understand the circumstances but they have charged us for both nights - over 1000 Euros total, in spite of this being a medical emergency. We hope to come to Bordeaux next summer but we won't be staying at this establishment! A little compassion and charging only for the first night would have gone a long way. Or even a future credit?

We stayed for 7 nights and everything was as expected, and we expected quality all over. What we like to add: the staff was very nice. smiling, humourous and helpfulness all over. And the first time, in our travelling around the world, that the owner himself (who was the most charming and enthusiastic) helped us with the luggage to our taxi when leaving. Regards from the 2 norwegians.

We stayed for 7 relaxing nights. There are 9 rooms in this hotel, so it's intimate and you quickly get to know everyone. We have stayed in 6-star hotels across the world and they can be quite corporate. In this hotel, you're like family. Antione, the owner, has a great team. Lulu is the hotel's fixer and can get you almost anything anywhere, whether in Bordeaux or in our case, a table at an amazing Basque restaurant in Biarritz. Most certainly one of the best hotels we've stayed at. French hotel rooms are typically tight. Not so at Hotel Quinconces. Plenty of room to relax. The hotel is within an easy walk of the city, its shops, and restaurants. We would go back tomorrow.

Beautiful property with a lovely garden just a couple blocks from the city center of Bordeaux. The rooms are large with modern amenities and an elevator to the upper floors! The breakfast is good with made to order eggs and great coffee. They do have a bar for a glass of wine in the garden in the evening. Very pleasant stay!

My wife and I visited Bordeaux for the first time and wanted to be in a cute, authentic neighborhood and this hotel delivered. I'm bougie AF, and I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!!! Our room was on the 2nd floor, overlooking the beautiful courtyard. The room and bathroom were very spacious. The windows were massive and let in a lot of natural light. The bed was very comfortable. While this hotel doesn't have the amenities of a big chain hotel, it makes up for it with charm. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we have the best stay possible. They helped with taxis, dinner reservations, etc. They were so friendly and their English was also very good. You could tell they really took pride in their work. Once you walk out the hotel's front door, you're minutes from cute shops and restaurants.

We had great expectations having read the reviews here. This is a very central bijou hotel with lovely rooms (at a high price). However it is like an Airbnb. There are few staff and no services. We were told that they were understaffed, had just reopened after being closed for months and had new owners. The staff told us they were all interns. This made sense of our arrival - we couldn’t gain entry for 15 minutes as there were no staff. The front door was locked. They could provide no refreshments after our journey. Breakfast food was limited (what one might expect in a 3 star buffet) and service incompetent with dishes not cleared, napkins and cutlery not provided and one young girl looking after the 4/5 guests present. Room amenities were unavailable or not replenished. Carpets in need of a clean. No sitting room, lounge or bar though a nice small garden. This place has potential but needs an owner or manager and good staff to justify its prices. We expressed our concerns while staying but staff told us nothing could be done.
