Sat in your restaurant right now.. My family have just enjoyed a delicious carvery. We had a roast back home last week that was £30a head and it was rubbish! Less than £14 a head here at The Riverside and it’s 10000 x better!! 👌🏻 Tastes like a real home cooked Sunday roast and that’s hard to get in a restaurant. Staff are very kind and polite too 🥰 Now if you could relocate to Surrey so we can come every Sunday that would be FANTASTIC 😅

The Riverside is a fabulous place, perfectly situated in the pretty village of Boscastle. The rooms are spacious and incredibly comfortable, superb beds and great en suites. Louise and Ross were just so friendly and welcoming, full of helpful advice; we are a group of friends walking the South West Coastal Path in stages, and we’d just completed a tough stage in horrible conditions so were looking forward to hot baths/showers and a good meal. The food is delicious, using local ingredients all put together very cleverly. Breakfast was also just perfect, the best bit of smoked haddock I’ve ever had with perfect eggs. I’d particularly like to thank all of the staff, I’m sorry I didn’t get the name of the lovely woman who served us breakfast, for their amazing welcome and kindness throughout our stay. Can’t wait to come back

It’s always a bad sign when a restaurant is completely empty on a Bank Holiday Monday evening. While the building is located in beautiful surroundings with great views from the dining room, the quality of the food here was disappointing and the menu was different to the ones advertised online and on notice boards. The “baked” Cornish Brie had been blitzed in the microwave, as the centre of the cheese was undercooked. The vegetable risotto looked like it had come out of a microwaveable packet of rice. The mashed potato served with the lamb shank was lumpy. Service was excellent throughout, however. Overall, best to avoid this place for food, as it’s telling when places like The Cobweb Inn and Sharon’s Plaice are busy while The Riverside was empty.

My week at The Riverside has sadly come to and end. Had a wonderful week. Ross & his Team are so very welcoming & the breakfast are delicious. The facilities and rooms are great & always clean. Had their carvery today & it was rather delicious too. Roll on May for my next visit.

From the outside it looks very nice and the staff were welcoming and helpful. We had room 3 which was very tired. Paint was coming off the wall in the bathroom and the decor was drab. It was basically clean but there was a smell to the common areas and room that showed it needed a deep clean. The location is ideal for the town although you have to park in a pay and display it’s near and free at night. Breakfast was ok with a nice view of the river and the staff friendly. We had a problem with the heating as the digital radiator valves were damaged but the staff sorted it and the room was warm. All in all ok but it could do with some refurbishment or at least a deep clean.

This was our second stay at the waterside, Staff and facilitys are pretty good, The room was ample, comfortable and warm, bed was huge and intaily quite comfy but did find it a bit lumpy after a couple of nights, After working in the catering trade for 40 odd years, i really dont like pre-order breakfast, it's not as though they were busy & i find it tends to make Chefs take short cuts by pre cooking bacon and sausages as it did in this case, & by the way it was an awful sausage anyway, leaving food under hot lights to form a skin on beans & genrally dry food out. As breakfast is half experince they might want to recosider, as had i known i wouldn't of booked. As for knowing what stock to order would be a poor excuse as it was only a cooked breakfast. saying all that we had a couple of evening meals that were nice, and some nice wines,

Wonderful service, friendly staff and lovely food. I’d recommend that you book a table especially for the Sunday carvery as it is rightly so very popular. Enjoyed ourselves so much we went back for breakfast which was every bit as good. Well done all at the Riverside.

Wow wow wow. Where do I start. OK we were recommended The Riverside by a friend and what a recommendation it was. So we were aware of Boscastle and the history, but never thought of visiting the area. How wrong I was. From the moment we arrived at the Riverside Hotel, we were greeted and welcomed with such friendliness and professionalism at the same time. All instructions were clear and we were made to feel at ease immediately. We made our way to the room which was easy to find as the signage throughout the hotel is clear and easy to follow and to understand. The room was perfect. Clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Tea, coffee, bathroom hand wash, shower gels, and plenty of clean towels that were replaced daily. The bed was amazingly comfy and we had three perfect nights sleep. Our view was beautiful as our room backed onto the river and we had the local ducks right outside our window, just beautiful. As we made a four our journey we decided to grab a bite to eat. The food here is just absolutely top quality and freshly cooked. The service by the chef and staff was just impeccable. We then decided to only use the Riverside restaurant for a evening meals for our duration of our stay . The menu is perfect. Breakfast was included in our deal and the breakfast choice was brilliant. Large selection for everyone to enjoy. No complaints, once again perfect. All the staff were extremely helpful with suggestions of things to do in and around the areas. They also have panflets to assist you on your travels. Overall, our experience at the Riverside was perfect from star to finish. 22nd Oct to 25th Oct. Room 6 Cledders and Janet. Thanks to all at the Riverside and look forward to seeing you again soon.
