If, as the saying goes, it's all about location, location, location, then the Inn @ St Botolph has it in spades. Just one short block from Boston's Prudential Center, and a short walk to Copley Square, this boutique property is convenient to many of the city's points of interest, including museums and concert halls, and public transportation. On my two-night stay I booked a standard room on the ground floor, but was upgraded to a one-bedroom suite on the third floor. The sitting room, kitchenette was a bright, sun-lit room in a bow-front turret with a view of the residential neighborhood. Though located just off busy Huntington Avenue, the area is amazingly quiet. The bedroom has comfortable queen-size four-poster bed. The bathroom is small, but efficiently laid out with a roomy walk-in shower. The room had all sorts of the conveniences one might find in a pied-a-terre, and so would be ideal for someone planning an extended stay. The kitchenette is furnished with all the necessary appliances and dinnerware for a quick breakfast or a heat-and-serve dinner. There is a small lounge on the ground floor that is set up for continental breakfast, and juice, water and coffee are available throughout the day. The office is staffed by helpful, knowledgeable people who were able to answer any questions and quickly resolve any issues I had. This having been said, the Inn is in need of updating and refurbishment. The carpeting in the hotel, particularly in the hallways and public areas, needs to be replaced. In my room there was noticeable water damage to a section of the wall in the bathroom and the blinds in one of the windows in the sitting room was broken. However, overall, the hotel offers tremendous value, comfort, and convenience for someone planning to visit Boston.
