Situated in the magnificent Welgevonden Reserve, Tintswalo Waterberg is a gorgeous lodge with views that go on forever. I suppose you could say that of many lodges. What makes Tintswalo Waterberg exceptional are the incredible team catering to your every need. The staff are fantastic - kind, friendly, accommodating and hospitable. Nothing is too much trouble for them. We had fabulous game viewing, led by experienced, knowledgeable, interesting and very entertaining guides. The food was delicous (be warned, you will eat far too much), and my daughter's severe gluten intolerance was catered to with so much care and concern. The rooms were gorgeous, comfortable and well-appointed with everything you could possibly need. We loved every minute of our weekend and made wonderful memories.

We've just returned from five days safari at Tintswalo in Welgevonden Game Reserve. What an amazing experience. From the minute we arrived, to the minute we left, we were looked after with exceptional care and attention by the whole team. Our guide for our stay, Foster (aka "DJ"), was so skilled and knowledgable. Our game drives with him were fantastic, and his explanations of the animals (and plants) found in the game reserve were first rate. He was also incredibly engaging, and you could tell that the wildlife of the bush was his real passion in life. He also showed how multi-talented he is by also assisting with the meal service and even signing for us on the night we had a Braai (South African BBQ). The lodge itself is beautiful, you get a really personal service there as it is not too big. The rooms were really comfortable and the whole setting and environment exceptional. The food was, without exception, fantastic. Elizabeth the chef and her team produced one great meal after another, which considering you are basically in the middle of nowhere, is a super achievement. We travelled as a mixed age group - grandparents in their 70s, down to a 13 year old kid. The whole family enjoyed this once-in-a-lifetime experience. One of the grandparents has mobility problems, and the staff at Tintswalo were always on hand to offer assistance where needed. There is nothing at all that I could fault about this trip. Thanks again to Daniel, DJ and the whole team for making us feel so welcome. If you are considering a safari holiday, and are a bit unsure, go with these guys - you will not regret it.

We highly recommend the Game Reserve for families who want to experience the wildlife of South Africa. It is perfect for the kids. Everything is explained thoughtfully and with lots of time. Besides the drives the food is fantastic!

We had a superb experience at Tintswalo family lodge - the staff could not have been more engaging, skilful and caring. Accommodation private and generous, food in abundance, and fantastic game viewing with 'Magic' Mike. If you are looking for a family / private retreat - this is your place!

Most amazing holiday ever. Aside from the safari which is incredible, we’ve never been to a place and felt so looked after by all of the team - the host, the butler, the chef, the cleaner, the guide - all worked as a team to make our stay the best ever!

This is hospitality at its best. Our first experience of the bush and a safari was made incredibly special by the Tintswalo Family Camp team. Safari - Mike was our guide and tracker and showed us not only the big 5 within two days there (extremely hard to find) but also left us with incredible info and knowledge of the bush and animals. We are going home with memories and pictures to treasure. Food - As a family of four vegetarians we were incredibly well catered to. The food was out of this world and the team made sure even our fussy kids had something to enjoy! They were incredibly accommodating too. Accomodation and the lodge - Beautiful space with something for both grown ups and children. The children had a large separate indoors play area. The rooms are gorgeous and housekeeping helped keep them tidy, smelling wonderful twice a day! Manager and all the staff - Jeantelle, Klara and team were all amazing! Incredibly friendly and polite. Loved interacting with them all. They made us feel at home and relaxed. No request was ever too big. There were SO many special touches from an Easter egg hunt for the kids to a special camp fire and BBQ dinner with the staff entertaining us with local songs and dances. A real treat getting immersed in the local culture. What a great trip - Highly recommend Tintswalo Family Camp especially to families with children.

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The wildlife was spectacular and the scenery was beautiful. Our guides, Mike and DJ, were wonderful, very knowledgeable and great with the kids. Food was great! Kids loved the pool! Everyone was sad when our trip came to an end.
