From the outside this is a very attractive hotel & once inside the welcome is warm, with a lively, buzzing atmosphere in the general bar area. The staff could not be more helpful - we were instantly greeting by a very willing gentleman, who appeared to be a waiter from the restaurant, but who was so helpful carrying our cases up the two flights of fairly steep stairs. The lovely lady who checked us in was very helpful too. Once in our room (those stairs were a bit of a climb!), the bed was comfy and the room was exceptionally clean, perhaps a little dated and quite cold although radiator was on fully and there was an additional heater in the wardrobe area if we had wanted it. The room wasn't enormous, but big enough - it was a mixture of modern and old fashioned, but the colour scheme let it down a bit - grey, which made the room seem colder - a different colour scheme would make the room cosier and more welcoming for sure! Breakfast was sufficient and we ate in the most lovely conservatory setting, which on a sunny day is absolutely delightful. With the sea just across the road, the setting and location is beautiful. We would stay there again and would recommend the hotel, it would just be nicer if the rooms had a touch of colour.
