Reserva Conchal Beach Resort, Golf & Spa

We rented Casa Malinche #2 (5 bedrooms, 6 baths) in Reserva Conchal. There were 9 of us and we had more than enough space for everyone. The resort is massive and beautiful. We were near the main entrance so it was easy for us to take our rented golf carts out into the surrounding area of Brasilito (although a bit stressful to drive with the tour buses - but late evenings were fine and actually a lot of fun). The guys played golf and the ladies enjoyed some of the best spa trea**ents we had ever received at the Heavenly Spa. The Reserva Conchal concierge was super helpful as was the villa management company. We alerted the management company every time we had a private driver coming and they alerted the security gate so that they were able to pick us up directly from our front door. It was perfect! Eric Garcia on the beach was super helpful with transportation and very reasonable in pricing - much better than the Uber or Westin shuttle pricing we were quoted. We highly recommend Gracie La Vid and Gracie Mar Vista. Both were excellent and accessible by golf cart. Patagonia was also a lovely spot and very diverse menu close by. The Reserva Conchal Beach Club is gorgeous and everyone was super friendly. They will take chairs out to the beach for you. The food and drinks from Neenda were great. We did not explore the Westin, but had drinks and appetizers one evening at the beautiful bar in the W Hotel. The location is a bit of a drive to the rainforest attractions, but there are plenty of other thins to do in the area. Manta Ray Catamarans have reasonable and wonderful private charters for large groups out of nearby Flamingo Marina. Truly a wonderful place to vacation!

We rented an Airbnb condo at Reserva Conchal and LOVED it! The condo had three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms -- all bedrooms are ensuite. Two of the bedrooms had King beds and the third had two queens which was ideal for our party of six. We were on the third floor so we had a great view of the resort, golf course, and ocean in the distance. Lots of birds and Howler monkeys on the property. The pools are wonderful - our villa had a shared pool very close by and their is a giant shared pool at the Reserva Conchal beach club with poolside service for drinks and food and direct beach access. Free use of kayaks, SUPs and other equipment. Golf course rents clubs and it was easy to get a tee time. The restaurant at the club is great for dinner - delicious food. Service was good but a little inconsistent. The on-property concierge and hiking trails are fantastic. We did not have time to mountain bike, but would have loved that, too - bikes are availble at no charge. We also hiked in the attached Wildlife Refuge (make a reservation with the concierge a day ahead if possible). We did book a horseback riding experience with Pacific Horses which started right at the beach access -- superconvenient and excellent experience! We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family and hope to visit again in the future!

We had the best family vacation at Reserva Conchal for 18 people ages 4-76 years old. We met Aaron on the beach and he helped us schedule a great full day tour with horseback riding, river rafting, ziplining, hot springs, mud baths, and also a catamaran sunset boat tour. He was very helpful and accommodating. Ask for Aaron on the beach and he will help you with anything you need! He has been helping my family for about 15 years now. Very trustworthy and can depend on his help! 10 out of 10!

We just came back from 7 great days in a condo at the Rerserva Conchal Beach resort. We rented the condo via the Marriott Homes & Villas site and was able to use some Bonvoy points, which made the vacation that much better. The local rental agent and their team were great. Communication with the local team, Rose and Elizabeth, was great as they were very organized and sent us all the information needed. They were able to get us an early check-in and a late check-out so we were able to get right into the condo when we arrived at 1pm and stayed until our ride to the airport came at 12pm the following week. Our condo, 3315 in the Cocobolo building was beautiful. It was Huge, with 3 bedrooms, but our 3 kids loved the chance to stay in the bunk room (2 bunk beds). The master bedroom had amazing views of the golf course , water, and even some of the mountains. Not sure why they put the central air unit right outside the master bedroom, but that is the only issue I have! The deck off the main floor was a great place to start our day with breakfast and to relax in the afternoon before heading out to dinner! We rented a golf cart, so our trip to the beach club was about 5 mins max since we cut thru the Golf course to the great beach club. Beach club and pool were outstanding. Plenty of kayaking, sups, and boogie boards to use. Chair service was great and the beach with it's natural tree shade was amazing. We ate lunch at the beach club 4 times and had our fair share of the amazing mango and watermelon smoothies. (both kid and adult versions!) Condo Pool was also great and served as our late afternoon or evening swimming location! Since we had a golf cart, we ended up eating at 4 local places and shopping at the local market just outside the resort. Papayo's at Hotel Conchal was great. Hard to believe a place in Costa Rica can make some good pizza (and we come from NJ)! We also ate at Patagonia Del Mar, Pleamar (via taxi), and Anders. While all were great, I have to say Anders was the best! We ate early so had the place to ourselves, but Ander and his staff was great. The food was fantastic. Highly recommend Reserva at Playa Concha. The Westin and W looked great, but if you like renting condos, this is the place, as you get the amenities of a resort, but the independence of renting your own place.

My husband and I stayed at Reserva Conchal for 4 nights to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary in early November. The property itself is very spacious and the grounds are beautiful. All the staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful. One special note is that part of the resort is undergoing renovation; I think this worked in our favor because they upgraded us to the nicest room we've ever had! We were treated to a King suite that had 2 bathrooms, a jacuzzi, two living spaces and the bedroom. Wow! What a treat this room was, with an ocean view as well. This would be a great room if you had kids with you because the second living space had very comfortable couch/beds (seemed comparable to a Casper mattress.) Overall, all the food on the resort was pretty damn good and since this was low season, reservations really weren't an issue. There were even a couple of nights we did not do reservations and they accommodated us. Now if it were busy season, I can definitely see how you would need to do your reservation. Our favorite restaurant was Bamboo, very good sushi and we liked the many offerings on the menu. Our least favorite was the steak restaurant; the steak was not seasoned at all. No biggie, plenty of other options — and the ceviche at every place was fantastic! Now while not part of the resort, the beach front area does have some local vendors. I do like how here you tell them no once and they leave you alone, unlike other countries vendors that consistently hound you. Of these vendors we took advantage of the banger $30 beach massage and we also used Erik's services for booking an excursion and airport transfer. I had read a lot about Erik on TA reviews for this hotel, so I reached out to him prior to our departure and he was very responsive and helpful. He got us set up with an airport transfer ($90 for two people from Liberia to the resort) as well as a waterfall hike and repelling excursion. He was easy to communicate with and I'd definitely recommend his services. Overall, we had a great time at this resort, my only negative is that there was a lack of entertainment in the evening. This may be due to the time of year we went, but around 8 or 9, we were kind of bored after dinner and would just go back to the room. Other resorts we have stayed at before have typically had entertainment at night. Otherwise, great time and thank you for the amazing room upgrade!

We did spend an amazing long weekend in Conchal resort. The pools were amazing, accomodation really nice. Staff was very helpful. Spa, food and drinks were very good. Also an amazing beach very close to the accomodation. It was clean, with lots of shade if needed and not too crowded.

Unforgettable vacation in this lovely country. Westin did not disappoint with this impeccable property. The reserva conchal is huge and we quite enjoyed the golf course. The rooms we had were right in front of the beach and gave us easy access to the water. The beach itself is what first caught our attention. It is truly special as it unique with is crushed shells portion where no sand is to be seen. Our friends stayed here and introduced us to Andrei at Conchalfun for booking all our tours. Our neighbours told us about Their guide Gabriel who did a spectacular tour in Arenal. My wife convinced me and we booked the 4 hour drive to discover another world. Waw this was my favorite part as we walked over the jungle on hanging bridges, we then hiked to the bottom a a beautiful waterfall called la fortuna left us speechless. The view OMG we were fortunate to have crystal clear view of the majestic Arenal volcano. After a delicious Costa Rican meal we headed to the hot springs. Long day but Gabriel our guide made is flow by so smoothly and we became friends instantly. We also booked a private sail boat with CONCHALFUN and explored the coast line and looking for marine life. The are the best tours to do as you see both worlds: Jungle lush and water world. People book ahead of time planning is key instead of bumping heads on the beach wasting vacation time planning things on the go. My husband and I booked a golf lesson + 9 holes of golf with Oscar David at Reserva Conchal, he was the most patient and gracious instructor I have ever encountered. He started with the basics, then we went to the driving range and then eventually on the course. I haven't played golf in about 20 years so his patience with me was greatly appreciated. Highly recommend this if anyone is looking for someone to teach them golf basics on vacation (or at any other time). We had to leave the following day, but if we were staying longer, we would have booked him a second time. Thank you so much Oscar, I may start playing golf at home!
