The Westin Reserva Conchal, an All-Inclusive Golf Resort & Spa

A great place to experience Costa Rica, but I feel some of the food there (sushi specifically) not the best quality. We booked the all inclusive. Their pizza and the steak house’s food were amazing. Overall we were super glad to have booked it there. You can also book the excursions through guest services and Andres was great in that process.

The Westin was an amazing experience! Everyone was so nice and helpful at the resort. The pool was amazing, which had a swim up bar, and the beach was amazing too! A couple times one of the golf cart drivers stopped so that we could see some howler monkeys in a tree on the way to the lobby which was really nice. Overall, the staff was absolutely wonderful. The only negative I have is that the service at the restaurants at the resort was not very good. It took a long time for the service. I was waiting an hour for a glass of wine one night. Also, the alcoholic drinks at the pool bar was a hit-and-miss. Sometimes they were good sometimes they were not. Lastly, Eric Garcia with the blue shirt from Google was right at the entrance on the beach (you can’t miss him!) and he was an amazing excursion booker for us. He booked us an awesome waterfall experience excursion which we had the best time. I highly recommend Eric G to book your excursions with, he is very nice.

Beautiful place with an amazing staff. We stayed in a lovely room. The landscaping was gorgeous along with the pools. There was always a tram to take us where we wanted to go. The best part of our visit was the amazing staff. We want to give a special thanks to Angie, Gaelle , Kevin and Andy at Mitral Market and Greivin and Jeffrey at the Westin Club pool. The public bathrooms were very clean and housekeeping did a great job attending to our room. The reason for the 4 stars is my husband got sick after eating at Spirula with diarrhea which he is still feeling after 3 days. The food was generally good but marred after this experience. Our other suggestion is to have some kind of lighting around the stairs between the bedroom and sitting area. It’s a bit of a hazard.

We expected luxury. NOT even a little! As soon as we were checking in, the front desk lady spoke so fast that we could not understand her. We asked her to slow down and see seemed irritated. We were supposed to have two king rooms with an ocean view. They don’t even offer this. We ended up with a king and a room with 2 double beds. The lady couldn’t even tell us which room had what beds before we got there. She said we would figure it out when we got there. The buildings have 4 rooms each and in a village style layout. We were on the second floor and there are no elevators. Wouldn’t matter if the bellboy would help with the heavier luggage. Once you get to the beach, it’s a public beach and people come running up to you in swarms asking if you want a massage or a fishing charter or any other excursions. It’s very uncomfortable and off putting. These people do not work for the resort. They are just a bunch of local hustlers. The rooms are cool but are in need of some attention. The showers need a good cleaning and to be resealed. When you turn the water on, black buildup of some kind comes out of the edges on the floor. The breakfast is a treat. Lots of options and coffee! The rest of the meals that I had here were not very good. If you don’t make reservations ahead of time, you will be having pizza or cafeteria style food. No reservations were available the night we arrived. Filet was not filet, instead it was a sirloin. Shrimp cocktail tasted like it was in a ketchup sauce. The chicken Parmesan was not even edible. The pools need redone in a big way. They are dirty even after they “cleaned” it. TRANSPORTATION….. ugh! We made dinner reservations 20 minutes from the resort for my birthday months before arriving here.. $200 to get there and back!! Highway robbery! We called an Uber (they are here but not many) and it was $30 each way. I would have rated the place one star but they did move us to a building with a partial ocean view. My advice is this… don’t stay here unless you are already here and your kids just want to play in the pool or it’s your Spring Break and you are here to party. I really wished things here had been better since this was supposed to be the “nicer and laid back” part of our trip. We were so excited to arrive here. By the second day, I was in tears and ready to fly back home. Any Westin I’d visited in the US is of much better quality.

Our family stayed at the Westin and thought the services were great! The staff was so friendly, our room was clean and the ac worked so well! We thought the food was amazing . There are free activities like snorkeling, boogy boarding ,kayaks and bicycles and others that you choose to pay .We had massages on the beach by Nina and it was very relaxing. We used Erik G for off resort activities- waterfall hike, zip lining and transportation to and from the airport (he has google blue shirt ) google him. He was so accommodating even with our numerous delays!

Amazing trip! Hotel is large and offers shuttle service that was definitely needed! Staff was very friendly! Did not have one bad meal! Multiple restaurants and a buffet are available as dining options. We had two groups that totaled 10 people. On line would not let us do reservations for all 10 of us. Trying to get them to combine was not easy. Lots of monkeys on site that were very cool! The room was clean and decent size. Not a fan of the pillows provided.....even asked for additional foam pillows and those were also not great. We did three excursions and used Eric on the beach for two of them after we had read all the reviews that suggested using him. The other we hd booked through Viator months before our trip. Eric was very friendly and the excursions we booked with him came with transportation. Every excursion we did was amazing!! You really can't go wrong! Plan on some long drives to get to many of the excursions. If you get car sick, bring dramamine......you definitely need it!

The Westin Conchal exceeded expectations by far . The staff was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. All of the restaurants including the buffet were excellent. The resort was clean , comfortable and pleasant during our 6 day stay. We loved the various animals on the resort. The shuttle rides made it easy to get around the resort . I’d highly recommend staying here . Download the hotel app for daily updates, activities and restaurant visits. Definitely 5/5

This resort is a dream! We loved everything about it- the rooms, the food, the animals- such a wonderful place to spend a quality vacation. We used Erik Garcia to plan excursions and he did not disappoint. We will be back next year with the whole family.
