Lovely Hotel, definitely stay again but not in the room given to me , I had emailed and called in advance for a lower floor as I have 2 miniature dachshunds, I was very surprised to be at the very top of 6 flights of stairs no lift !
Court yard room next time .

As we got out of our car we were greeted by Gary who quickly became one of the coolest people we met on our trip! The next day we were lucky enough to have a massage and Amy and Kat really made us feel relaxed and refreshed! We immediately started planning our next stay a lygon. The common areas are clean, beautiful, and have so much history, the food was great and all of the team were fun to talk to and very helpful. The rooms were beautiful and a nice size! Loved the rain shower as well. Highly recommend this place for your next visit!

I would like to say thank you for the warm welcome and the service that everyone provided. We had an excelent experience and our expectations were definitely exceeded. We stayed for a one night in the Hotel and we were super impressed with everyone's professionalism. Everyone made our stay extremely special, starting from the main desk with Paul whom upgraded us into a superior room, Jenny, very professional and very polite, Nina - the manager from the spa with her warm welcome, Khelena who regularly checked on us if we needed extra drinks in the pool area, as well as Adam and Kyle from the bar who were super efficient and very polite. Nothing seemed to be too much. Moreover, the room was very spacious and extremely clean, with really comfortable bed and pillows. We would also like to thank Katalin and Damian who made sure that we will have our packed breakfast in the morning. We would definitely return!

We had heard such great things about the Lygon Arms but sadly we were disappointed with our stay at the hotel. The welcome upon arrival by reception was very poor, no real eye contact by the young lady and when I later asked her for recommendations on where to visit / explore locally, I was told there’s lots to see, just choose left or right, it doesn’t really matter. Our room was also overlooked from a bridge that connects two parts of the hotel which we wasn’t happy about as it meant having the curtains pulled at all times. We asked to be moved which we were and the second room was a lot better. The service in the courtyard was again very poor, having to wait for long periods before anyone came to take drinks orders so i eventually went to the bar. It appeared to be lots of young members of staff so maybe there was a lack of training in hospitality but it’s not what you expect from a luxury establishment. The evening food and breakfast was very good in the restaurant and the overall service was better in the evening. Overall it was an underwhelming experience over the two nights and I doubt we will return based on the cost of our stay being nearly £800 and the experience feeling more budget.

Just had Sunday lunch for a family birthday. Not tried this restaurant before and we were very much looking forward to it. The roast sirloin of beef was delicious, however, it was served with 1/2 a carrot, a spoonful of shredded cabbage and a couple of roast potatoes. Personally I would have liked more vegetables. The roast potatoes were so difficult to cut, nice and soft inside, but I was seriously worried about my teeth. The Yorkshire pudding was nice and the gravy was very tasty. Unfortunately the whole plate of dinner was cold, however, the additional gravy was hot. I should have sent it back, but it is difficult when you are with a group. Would I return? I don’t think so.

We enjoyed a light lunch,,,,,,fantastic sausage rolls and good valBlanc and a cider ue, drinks good but expensive we had a glass of wine of house Sauvignon Blanc and a bottle of cider which were high priced. Sevice good. Nice and comfortable. This hotel is very impressive as a building and interior furnishings,

I recently enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea with family voting from Australia, and it was truly a memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, Sandor took great care of us. His attentive service made my family feel so welcome. The selection of sweets was divine and we loved the scones and sandwiches as well. Overall, the combination of lovely atmosphere and Sandor's outstanding service made our afternoon tea a special occasion. Can't wait to be back!
