Best Hotels near Specsavers Opticians and Audiologists - West Wickham, Bromley

We always stay at the Lion & Key when we visit London and have been fortunate enough to stay here again in October, December, and also January for my husbands 80th birthday. This really is the ”Savoy” of the small hotels in London and we always know without fail, we will have the most perfect stay. All the staff genuinely care about their guests having the best experience and you cannot fault the care and attention to detail that this hotel takes to ensure an excellent customer experience. They have a great team of which we would like to thank Giorgio, Kanti and Stephania for making all our visits a home away from home. The rooms and also public areas in the hotel are kept pristinely clean and are bright and cheerful. I love the attention to detail this hotel has even with the smallest thing. i.e. the shower cap in the bathroom also has a small hairband in the box ,which is excellent if you have long hair and can’t find your own! The beds are also extremely comfortable and we both always have an excellent night sleep. We love the open kitchen where you can see all the food being freshly prepared and cooked to order. They are very generous with their breakfast time which doesn’t end until 12 o’clock lunchtime. The choice and range that they offer in their restaurant, regardless of breakfast or main meals throughout the day would accommodate even the most fussiest eaters, which I am, but even I am extremely spoilt for choice as the breakfast menu is so comprehensive. The quality of the ingredients used in the restaurant is first class and so is the time and care in presentation which also reflects the pride that they take. We can honestly say that the breakfast’s we have at the L&K are the most tastiest, freshest, consistently perfect breakfast’s we have ever had and far exceed the quality that we have experienced over the years in 4 & 5 star hotels. To be honest, we often wonder how they continuously provide such care and attention to detail for the customer, even more so since Covid as many many hotels and restaurants seem to still use this as an excuse for a less than perfect service or menu range. We must’ve had over 100 of breakfasts since we have been coming here in 2018 and the eggs are always perfectly cooked with a lovely orange yolk, regardless of whether it’s a normal full English breakfast, or my husbands favorite the Egg Royale. We very rarely eat sausages or bacon at home, but the quality and taste of the ones here are amazing, so we always, always enjoy our breakfast which set us up for exploring all day. The transport links to this hotel are excellent as well. There are four buses that go past the hotel to Leyton underground, one of which is running 24 hours and they seem to come by every few minutes. Stratford is only four stops from Leyton so excellent connections for overground, DLR, O2 etc. Liverpool Street is the next stop along for even more connections so the location we find is a great asset to wherever we

Parking was easy, check-in swift and friendly and my room, as usual at this hotel, was clean, comfortable and very well presented. The server at dinner made sure I was happy with the table location, took my order, was engaged in her work and demonstrated great pride in her efforts to ensure customer satisfaction... the food and drink were both very enjoyable and filling too. The same can also be said for the breakfast team and content. Although it is of the buffet style the selection is wide, environment spotlessly clean and the team constantly busy ensuring everything is fresh and plentiful. Also, omlettes are cooked to order as a house speciality, yum! This hotel and it's staff are a gleaming example of how to make its patrons feel valued whilst not simpering or smothering guests. On arrival there was a new girl on Reception (black girl) and she told me that the room I had reserved was room only and I knew I had booked a b&b rate. Although she was very pleasant she said she was new and needed to check with a more experienced receptionist. A white lady came into the reception area and was telling me that the new girl didn't know how to check was was included in the room rate and started showing her - how to check for this while I was there. This white lady (had a foreign accent) was quite abrupt to me and I thought to myself, maybe if you trained the new girl better, she would be able to check these details. The new girl was apologizing, I said to her its not your fault, you need to get trained better in your role. She was a beautiful young girl and very friendly and tried to help as much as she could. The kettle in my room was not working but was replaced quite quickly. I went to get some milk from the trolley and the Housekeeper (Spanish) screamed at me - your are not allowed to touch the trollies and if you need anything, please contact Reception, I said shall I leave it back then and she said - No its OK!. Had to advice Reception if one, needed their room cleaned. Breakfast was nice except the mushrooms they were too hard and difficult to eat. Staff tend to move trollies and talk to each other when guests are around and they use the guest lift as a service lift. They got in the way at times when I was trying to get out of the hotel, they apologized for getting in my way. Majority of staff were friendly, rooms need updating. On my last day, I was getting some tea at breakfast time in the dining area and when I returned a staff member (Small Indian lady) was clearing away my food and I had only went to get a cup of tea and had not finished my breakfast, I told her I was still having my breakfast. I was annoyed as my room card was still on the table but she never noticed this and was clearing it away. They spray and clean empty tables very close to you as you eat your breakfast which is frustrating as the smell of the cleaning liquid is quite strong, It was my first time staying at this hotel, however in the past I have had coffee/tea there but never stayed before. I would rate is as a 3 star Hotel and not a 4 star Hotel.

What a find, a lovely classic hotel overlooking Blackheath absolutely perfect for our visit to our daughter who lives nearby. Really kind and helpful staff, from Josh who helped with our luggage on arrival to all reception staff, restaurant and bar staff thank you for making our weekend so comfortable and enjoyable. I really liked Hotel Love and Peace. It's very clean, very neat, very calm. The service staff is very good at keeping clean, very hospitable and very attentive to their visitors. This Hotel will be loved by all those who decided to take a break. This place can really name: Love In Peace.

Hampton by Hilton is enjoyable to stay in , so wonderful it’s staff, but my experience I had was when I went to have my breakfast and there was shortage of seats, sat on one but disgracefully removed by an old white lady who claimed the seat was kept for her and the husband. It was very distasteful, especially when they have a full house when everyone is having their breakfast. I belittled and disrespected. I thought the tables could have been cleaned when they are dirty after use, but on this occasion, the dirty one were not cleaned but there were very much not enough tables left.

Despite not being disabled ourselves, we were given a disabled room which had obviously just been refurbished. The room was excellent, spacious and well appointed. We've never slept in such a large bed - it was wider than it was long!
