Room clean good service restaurant was totally full

Excellent service from the reception staff to the bar staff. All queries answered straight away.

Had two night stay here and was very pleased with all aspects of this new hotel.Check in was quick and easy. My room was spacious as was the ensuite. The cleanliness was top draw and everything worked. The bed was really comfy and I heard no noise from anything when in my room.Nice large smart TV too ! Would certainly stay again and will look out other hotels in the group.

Visited Paignton for Armed forces day March (on a Sunday). Decided to have a drink in this smart looking hotel over looking the green on the sea front. Warm and sunny day so decided we would sit out side. A polite friendly elderly gentleman greeted us who was washing down the main walkway into the hotel. Once inside we went to the main entrance bar to order a coffee and a coke. Straight away told, wait a minute! However, there appeared nobody around? This lady appeared stressed and not happy in her job. She eventually returned and took the order and told us she bring it over. 25 mins later still no drinks, on asking she informed us she forgot. Great looking hotel but let down by this member of staff who was on the main reception. Maybe the gentleman cleaning the front should be in charge of reception as he was polite and welcoming!

Fantastic stay here. Can’t comment on the food as we were room only. The hotel is in a beautiful position and would recommend for anyone who wants a lovely place to stay with extremely comfortable beds and all facilities you could require.

A very comfortable hotel, great location on the seafront within walking distance of the harbour and the town centre. The staff were friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble. Room was spacious and the bed comfortable giving a good night’s sleep.

An absolutely gorgeous hotel. Excellent location. Wonderful staff. Yummy food. We paid an additional cost for a sea view - which was perfect. We took my elderly mum who uses a wheelchair. The entire hotel, including bedrooms, were absolutely superb for her.

Drab corporate venue, we booked in February turned up today for my sixtieth birthday, bar staff totally disinterested, lack of choice and overpriced We tried to book in for dinner, a coach party turned up most likely paying less than us, so we were unable to have dinner, duty manager told us he had been told by his boss not to push dinner. This is a premier inn without the charm, book the ibis next door, this place is a waste of money.

Hotel is new and room lovely. Not happy with car parking fee. However, there was a very large coach party staying here on the 5 nights we stayed. Chaos in dining room. Breakfast first morning we could only just find somewhere to sit, then had to clear our table and then lay it ourselves. Staff do not seem to know what they are doing. Fruit and cereal was very depleted and took ages to be replenished. Hot food not too bad but not very hot. No lids for teapots so dangerous with hot water when pouring. Have to order fried egg at bar it then does a tour of the restaurant on a cold plate, only ever tried this once. Only eat in restaurant once on first night meal was overpriced, cold and very small. Restaurant staff need training as just wonder around with no direction or idea what they should be doing. We have stayed at 4 different Mercure Hotels but will not be coming back to this one.
