We had a great weekend at the Art Bohem Hotel. This quirky trendy unassuming hotel is centrally located in a quiet side street close to the river, public transport, the market and Vaci Street making both sides of Budapest really accessible. It is in a very safe area. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the hotel is super clean. Our room was cleaned daily and clean towels were exchanged for the ones we left in the bath. We loved the complimentary bottles of water each day. There was a mini bar fridge in the room. Tea and coffee making facilities, safe deposit box in a deep drawer plus storage and hanging space. Our room faced the street but the hotel is was very very quiet. We had a room for 3/4 people so the beds in our room had a quirky double bunk bed set up. However, my daughter who is 5ft 6 could fully stand on the top bunk. The ceilings were so high. The furnishing were modern, with a variety of lighting and the bathroom was huge and included a full size bath and shower cubicle. There was ample lighting and a mounted shaving /makeup mirror. Bath mats are provided along with great little black face cloths. (Nothing worse than getting makeup residue on Hotel towels etc.) There are other rooms with out the bunk bed so ask for one of these if you don’t fancy open steps. The bunk is very high so I would not recommend this for small children. Breakfast was excellent. With a good selection of hot and cold dishes, cheese, breads, pastries, cereal and fruit. There were also some vegetarian dishes such as roasted vegetables, salad items and couscous. A selection of teas, coffee and fruit just plus a fresh orange juice press and sparkling wine if you fancied a Mimosa. Overall the Hotel Art Bohem represented excellent value for money in a great location. The staff were super helpful and were happy to advise on tourist locations, how to get there, book a private airport transfer car which cost 36Euros or call a taxi for you that cost us approx 11,500 HF to the airport which is about £25.00. I only gave 4 stars because nuts were sprinkled on some of the breakfast items, (nuts featured on most Hungarian restaurants menus) one of our party is a nut allergy sufferer but did not raise this as an issue because she felt it was a traditional item and did not want to make a fuss. Consequently she had to be very careful and we had to taste things for her. If we returned to Budapest we would definitely stay here again
