Best Hotels near Praia Das Cabanas Velhas, Budens

The regulation is to check in at 6 o'clock in the evening, we arrived at 3 o'clock, and we were also checked in. A resort-like hotel with new facilities and a well-maintained appearance. The front desk and the concierge speak good English, and most of the guests are British. The room is very spacious. The kitchen on the first floor is equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, pots and pans, a large dining room and balcony, a guest bathroom, and a large terrace. On the ground floor there are two bedrooms, each with a bathroom. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows is a small yard, connected to the next-door unit. You can walk directly from the green belt to the swimming pool. Children like the swimming pool very much, and there is a kiosk next to it for coffee and drinks. If I have a chance in the future, I will come again. To go to the beach, you can drive by yourself or take the hotel shuttle. The quality of salema beach itself is also very good, there are public toilets, small and beautiful beach.

We are regular visitors to lovely Praia da Luz. This was the first time at this hotel and we were very happy with our stay. We had premium sea view room with lovely views over the pool and out to sea. Room was large and plenty of storage space, the best we’ve had for a long time. Fridge worked well, as did the air con. Free safe and pool towels. Comfortable bed. Room cleaned to good standard. Large and fluffy bath towels. On the minus side- The safe was quite small, but just about managed to fit in our iPads. It locked with a key as opposed to digital locking, and the room key was rather cumbersome too. Didn’t like the plastic shower curtain. Breakfast was fine. Not a huge selection, but adequate. The bread rolls and the cakes were delicious. Great pool area, never a problem getting a sun bed at any time of day. Hotel Location very quiet and peaceful, but it was a steep climb up from the restaurants, shops and beach (bearing in mind we’re in our 70’s with bad knees). But that wouldn’t put us off staying there again. There is a bus stop outside hotel, but out of season the buses stop quite early.

The hotel room is very close to the sea and the downtown. There are many small supermarkets and restaurants next to it. The hotel is well-equipped, with a swimming pool and gym. But the room does not have the common supplies such as coffee and toothbrushes, which are provided in the hotels in China.

From the very beginning when we arrived at this Hotel 23rd September 2022 the lady on the Reception was very professional and welcoming. We arrived just after 12.00 hrs and the lady advised that our room may not be ready but she still made a telephone call to housekeeping. Unfortunately it was not ready but we were able to store our cases and go and explore. When we returned back the room was ready, the porter took our cases to the room and it was perfect, room 31 overlooking the pool, very clean, modern and well equipped for our needs. The following morning the breakfast was amazing and I mean amazing I have never seen a hotel accomodate every taste it was absolutely fantastic. I cannot comment on the restaurants available because we like to eat out to taste the culture of the area we are visiting. The pool area looked lovely but we are not pool people we like exploring but that is our choice. We did on return from our days out sit on our balcony which was spacious and had a lovely view of the pool. In the mornings we did see how the hotel pay attention to detail with the cleaners out cleaning the beds and pool area. We did have a drink the bar area one evening which was reasonably priced and it is a lovely area to relax. I would have no problem in recommending this hotel to my friends and family in fact we are looking to book again next September.

The hotel is located on a very quiet street in the city center. Simple but very practical. Breakfast is served in your room (covid reason) Good bedding and wifi works well. A small balcony decorates the whole. Good address to visit Lagos. But be careful not to stop. There are only 2 luggage storage offices at the beginning of the street (30m from the hotel) There are a few vacant places on the street...but the space is full, full Parking on the boulevard along the canal 600m from the hotel costs 12 Euros/day.

Martinhal Sagres is pure paradise! Beautiful scenary and views. It’s the best family friendly resort we have ever stayed in. They cater so well for young children. There are 4 different pools so we loved trying out different ones on different days. Our children had an absolute ball! The playgrounds are Fantastic too. There is so much variety. The kids loved them. They were busy all the time. The restaurants are great too and the best part is the playgrounds located in the front or the play area and child minding service provided within the restaurants!! It means as adults you get to enjoy your meals in peace 👌 I would highly recommend this resort. It is expensive, but worth it. Pure luxury!!

A highly recommended hotel! If you drive from Seville to Lisbon, you can stay here for one night! The town is beautiful. This hotel is perfect except for the room! The Michelin restaurant downstairs tastes good too! Especially breakfast, the breakfast is rich and exquisite! The breakfast has fried steak and lamb chops, and the taste is very good! If you look for nature, peace and comfort, this is the place to go. In the middle of the Vincentina Coast Natural Park, full of birds and trees, the buildings of the hotel are designed with great architectural vision. The rooms are just georgeous and have private balcony or gardens. The main building is on higher ground with an amazing view over the park and on the ocean. Enjoy the sunsets from the terrace with the lanterns in the evening or at one of the tables in the excellent Azeitona restaurant. The menu provides for all tastes (fish, meat and vegetarian) and the dishes are prepared with a lot of flavour and finesse presentation. Breakfast is outstanding, with a large buffet selection (lots of typical Portugese sweets, home-made sourdough bread, many fruits, yoghurt, cereals, seeds, meat, cheese and salmon, fresh fruit juice, Bloody Mary station and Portuguese sparkling wine) and à la carte dishes (the pancakes with red fruits! the egg Benedict with salmon!) and drinks. Staff is really great and go out of their way to help the guests. I’d like to specifically mention Elisabete (breakfast and pool bar Zimbro) - who should be paid by the count of steps and smiles -, also Jessica and Paula (dinner service), Bruno (pool bar Zimbro and dinner), Tomas (sommelier) and I wholeheartedly recommend the delicious cocktails from Juan (bar tender Menzondro and cocktail creator). Book a spa session for ultimate relaxation, I had the place (with two sauna’s, hamam, IR shower, ice bath and indoors and outdoor pool) to myself several times. Soledad is very kind, lets you enjoy the place by taking good care of it and serves hot tea and cold water throughout. The main pool is nicely integrated in the landscape and pool service is very good. I very much enjoyed the complimentary yoga sessions in the morning from yogi master Sofia, she is an outstanding teacher, builds the flows from floor to standing to floor for all levels and does a very peaceful meditation at the end where she makes sure everyone lies aligned and relaxed. Namaste, Sofia! The Whatsapp concierge service is very convenient and Joana was very helpful during booking and at check-out. Often forgotten, but certainly worth the mention here is the room cleaning and turndown staff who impeccably service the rooms every day. If you like hiking, I warmly recommend the walks provided in the booklet of the hotel (next to many other activities which also look great). The walk down to the ocean (3,6km, red, labelled average) takes about 50 min (and about 1h10 up) through the Natural Park and rewards you with the best views of empty sand beaches and ocean cliffs like in movies - there is no access but by the dust roads, I only met 1 car driving down and on weekdays spent the time down at the ocean alone (in the weekend there were a few hikers and local surfers, but still paradise ). I returned to this hotel having visited last year – at that time my review said ‘I think I have never stayed at a hotel that has delivered so well on my expectations’. However, although the location is still perfect, the swimming pool an oasis of calm, the staff super attentive and the rooms elegant and clean, some aspects have changed for the worse, since I was last here. Firstly the breakfast which, last year was a cordon bleu triumph is now a rather uninspiring buffet arrangement – where previously there were cooked breakfast items freshly made to order including eggs Bennedict, omelettes, bacon and sausages with smoked salmon and a huge choice of fresh fruit, cold meats and cheese. Secondly, families (with young children) from nearby ‘exclusive’ villas are now invited to share the breakfast service – from time to time shattering the calm and negating the ‘Adults Only’ claim – on TA and other booking sites. Word on the street is that this unique hotel will shortly be replaced by a Marriott – which, in itself, is a pity – however it would have been good if the previous standards could have been maintained until that time. This hotel is still lovely and the staff amazing but – to those of us lucky to have visited before – it’s just not the same Palmares Beach House hotel.
