Stayed there on a Sunday as I had court the day after. This hotel is in a great location for court duties! My family and I prefer to stay in Hilton and Hilton chains because of the relatively consistent quality and service. I've never really experienced any front desk issues at any hotel as I like to do it quickly and settle in. This experience is the worst so far! In terms of poor service. This day, my husband came with me, and we went to the front desk to check in. BTW, valet parking is only $20 - not bad at all! Anyway, there were two front desk workers chatting away, and I had to say excuse me even though they saw us there. Then, our card kept getting declined which was alarming. I sat in the lobby within less than 20 feet from the front desk and called my bank. I was getting incresingly annoyed and frustrated. Around 20 minutes later, the BoA said that they didn't have a record of declined charges. So confused. I walked back up the front, and then the woman flatly said .."Oh, it was actually an issue with our machine"..no sorry..no nothin..stood there in silence waiting for it for a few seconds before she asked for my card again and voila! *** she already knew about the issue and saw me on the phone getting frustrated and only said something when I approached her. There were no other guests there, and she was just chatting and laughing away with her coworker. I grabbed the keycards and left. The rooms were clean but needed maintenance. I loved the huge window and the view! I called the front desk that evening to say that I wanted to request a late checkout the next day so my husband could sleep in. It was $30 extra for a 3pm checkout, which was not bad. The included hot breakfast was great! He decided after breakfast at 8 am that he didn't want to hang around the hotel, so we told the front desk (different woman) that we didn't want the late check out anymore, and she said no problem. I messaged on the Hilton app to make sure again, and yes, it was noted already. I only looked at the receipt on the drive home, and they they charged me the $30. We left the hotel between 11 to 11:30am. I messaged on the app, and there was no answer. I sent them an explanation of what happened and that I needed a refund. It is now 3 weeks after that day ( second Sunday in March 2024). I just finished chatting with customer service on the Hilton app, which finally processed the $30 refund. What prompted me to write this review - which I rarely do - is the fact that customer service said they couldn't do anything for me regarding the poor service I received. Oh well, there are plenty of other hotels on the same street if you ever want to stay near the courts and other government buildings.
