I booked a Superior Suite which included the description "One of our Premier Rooms, this has been completely renovated and features a kitchenette, separate lounge area, bedroom with King size bed, and a full length balcony overlooking Bunbury's unique lighthouse and sweeping ocean views". As the hotel had recently undergone refurbishment I checked other booking sites and the hotel website and social media pages for photographs of the suite category and was satisfied with the advertised pictures that matched the suite. I did also come across some negative reviews so included a request to be contacted if the suite I had booked did not have a kitchenette because I had booked that particular room type for that requirement. Upon checking in after a long day I was assured that my room had been recently renovated and that they noted I had requested a kitchenette and they were sorry that there was no microwave currently in the room but they would try to find one the next day. I was tired and a little confused but assured by his comment that the room was renovated, I assumed they were only talking about the lack of a microwave so I duly paid the requested amount (full 6 days) at check in and went to my room. Once I got to the room, it was clear that there was no kitchenette, only a bar fridge, kettle and toaster. There was not even a sink (aside from ensuite basin) to fill the kettle, cutlery, plates, or cleaning supplies to clean the limited glasses and coffee cups. I called reception immediately to query the room allocation and was assured that they would try to move me to a room with a kitchenette the next day. As I had not been contacted the next day, I called that evening to thank them for the microwave that had been left in the room and ask if a room change was possible. I was placated with a room service meal, some dishwashing liquid and more promises to see when they could move me to the room with the kitchenette (room 26 if anyone is game to stay here). I am generally not a confrontational person so I gave up asking for the hotel to honor the booking or report other issues of concern and just hoped I would be pleasantly surprised with a call to inform the room was now free to move to. I will spare all of the details and generally do not leave negative reviews; however, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will not stay there again mainly due to the poor response to the clear mis-representation and advertising, which then brings into question the transparency around other concerns such as health and safety. By the fifth day and seeing a cockroach crawling across the buffet table at breakfast the stay had almost become comical! To top it off, on the last night I was woken by something dropping onto my face and discovered it was another cockroach. It is safe to say I did not present to the dining room the next morning for the breakfast which was included in my accommodation package and paid extra to have breakfast elsewhere! As a fin
