First time back in 30 years and still excellent. Alana and the other staff were really friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and full of character, and the dinner was very good. However, the full English breakfast was even better! We stayed for only one night, for a family occasion nearby, but wish we could have stayed longer. We look forward to staying again.

Two couples pre booked for dinner...totally totally disappointing.Not busy but in there for 2 and a half hours for 2 courses...long waits.Two starter sized mussels....some uncooked...2 ceasar salads one asked for without advertised egg....neither got eggs and one with only one cruton!!!! Complained and was then offered a complimentary pud...which we really didn't want....but ordered 2 cheeseboards and one double scoop ice cream..not too tricky...long long wait then when we chased was told that one ice cream flavour unavailable Very expensive for basically one course and my wife said it was probably the worst meal she had ever had

A really lovely quirky hotel in a great location in Burford. A very warm welcome, rooms vary a lot, very comfortable beds and excellent breakfast. We hosted an event for about 20 people over 2 days, with a black tie dinner in the conservatory. We had very attentive and friendly service, the food was generally very good, and all in all the event was a great success. We highly recommend!

We just had the nicest stay at The Bay Tree in Burford. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, we had steaming hot water in a shower you could practically rollerskate in, the breakfasts were tasty and plentiful and the staff were friendly and really helpful. The hotel is also extremely rare in Burford as it actually has its own carpark! We had been booked into the sister hotel, The Lamb Inn, but they were doing renovations so offered us a room at The Bay Tree instead and then, when we checked in, we got an upgrade. Just fantastic.

Absolutely lovely. Fascinating history. Amazing service. Just a wonderful exceptional place. I went with my granddaughter, who is 6, and she loved every minute. Alana, who was on reception, is absolutely wonderful - she must be headhunted all the time. All the other staff were great too; the other reception staff, the waiter in the restaurant at Sunday lunch etc. etc.Just such a lovely place. Like a luxurious version of home sort of thing. Very accepting and casual.

Only problem we had was ordering porridge at breakfast on first day. No oat milk so had coconut milk instead. When it arrived was tepid at best.
Second morning, no porridge available !

We had a really lovely stay at The Bay Tree. The room was spacious, clean and had a cosy vibe. The breakfast was great and the Christmas themed interiors were beautiful. Staff were friendly and great location. They did oat milk with my breakfast which I was very happy with! Can’t complain at all.

Midweek stay - really impressive , classy experience and superbly helpful and friendly staff. Bags of character everywhere you look our room was gorgeous . Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast and dinner both top notch with interesting choices on all menus - enough choices to keep you very happy and all dishes clearly the work of a talented chef. Reasonably priced wine list too. My only advice would be for them to put more energy and staffinto the bar area and adjacent rooms. The bar was usually understaffed with apparently no non- malt whiskies available and not a great choice of draught beers . However it’s a fantastic place to stay and I loved it and will be back .
