"This historic building is quite a surprise. The oldest part is nearly 500 years old, and the decor and layout are truly historic! There's a small bar at the entrance, with various dining areas on the ground floor, and bedrooms upstairs. Our room faced the street, which some reviews have complained about being noisy, but with the windows closed, it was fine this season. Dinner was delicious and the breakfast was plentiful. It's a great base for a rural getaway."

"Great location, lovely welcome from Cheryl who couldn't have been more helpful when we asked our twenty questions about parking, buses/taxis to The Farmers Dog. Helped us take luggage to our room too. Really makes a difference having a friendly face greeting you rather than a soleless computer to check in. The chap (didn't get his name) who was behind the desk later on was really good too. Reassuring that there was a 24 hour reception. Overall a great place to stay and easily walkable into Burford."

"The room is a bit small but fully equipped. The waiters are very nice. The only problem is that there is no elevator and you have to carry your luggage upstairs. The food in the restaurant is delicious😋"

"The room was a beautiful suite on the second floor of a historic cottage. There was a lovely garden outside the restaurant, and the sunlight streaming in during breakfast was delightful! All three staff members were friendly and efficient. A very good stay."

"If you are looking for a very comfortable base to explore the cotswolds, look no further. This hotel is an absolute gem. We stayed in the verandah room, beautifully decorated, large very comfortable bed, lounge area, bath with overhead shower, immaculately clean. Had a wonderful meal Saturday night, but couldn't do it justice as very large portion. Lovely breakfast,everything you need to set you up for the day. The lady who owns the hotel is so helpful, 're local restaurants, places to visit etc. If we come back to the cotswolds will definitely stay here again."
