Premier Inn Manchester Bury

This is my first time staying at the Bury branch - I needed somewhere to stay for Bury 10k ideally near a tram stop and the town centre for convenience, and this branch ticked both of those requirements. I've stayed at the Prestwich branch earlier this year and even though Premier Inn have a set of standards across all sites, there's enough of a difference that I thought I should take note for TA. To get here from Bury Interchange, take the pedestrian exit directly to the right of the ticket office as you're facing it, follow the path 'round, and use the underpass. You can get trams directly to Bury from Piccadilly and Victoria, but when the signals failed on Sunday afternoon there were also bus services taking you into Manchester city centre. The staff are friendly and helpful particularly Jenna who was present throughout my stay. The rooms themselves are a good size with comfy beds, nice bathrooms and lockable doors all present and correct. There's also air-con, a tea station, a small wardrobe alcove with hangers, and a Hollywood-style mirror and hairdryer for beautifying yourself. Housekeeping is done on request. There are decent-sized tellies but I didn't use either of the ones I had access to. Wifi quality was brilliant and didn't drop out once. Plenty of sockets available but no USB ports, so pack a plug for your charger. You can hear the odd noise from trams or the road if your windows are open but given how close you are to the town that's to be expected. As far as food goes, the menu here is far more varied than my April stay at Prestwich. I'm not sure if this is unique to this Premier Inn (being a town-centre branch) but because of how much choice was on, I ate there both nights. On the first night I kept it light with tomato soup and garlic bread but on the second I had a vegan burger. Decent grub on the whole with reasonable prices, plus the restaurant/bar itself is pleasantly designed and peaceful. On the first night the restaurant was nearly full but both ladies on duty managed perfectly - fair play to them! Onto the small negatives: the water pressure for the shower wasn't the best (could've been the time of morning I chose to use it though), and I did flag with Reception that the lamp in room 111 wasn't working. I tend to use lamps rather than 'big lights' especially if I'm using the desk but given I was only stopping a couple of nights it wasn't a huge deal. The chap on breakfast duty did say they'd send someone to fix or replace it but this didn't happen during my stay. There was also an incident during my second night there involving some numpty hammering loudly on numerous doors on the first floor. I went downstairs to alert security after it happened twice in the space of five minutes, and ended up moving rooms. The behaviour of other people isn't the fault of the PI staff and Reception suggested that a room move was the quickest solution (which I agreed with). I'm not sure how they dealt with it after that given I cou

Great entertainment and overnight stay when we visited. Easy check in, nice clean room with a comfy bed. Went in the Pub and Griil and we had chicken wrap with fries that were hot, fresh and tasty with good, friendly service. Function room was a nice size with plenty of seating without it feeling over crowded and the bar service was good and helpful throughout the evening, There was plenty to choose for our breakfast that was all fresh and hot, with a good choice of drinks. All the staff we had contact with were friendly and helpful.

Stayed 2 nights for a wedding. Check in went smoothly. 2 single beds in room very comfy.3 coat hangers for 2 people to hang wedding outfits and 2 days /Night outfits!!!. Carpet in room was stained and needed a good clean or better still replacing.the bathroom !!!! I think its had a refurb but they forgot to replace the bath.where the bath panel meets the top of the bath was disgusting all it needs is a toothbrush to clean the gunge out.maybe the housekeepers need extra time in each room to get them up to scratch. We ate in the dining room on our first night. I had the steak and ale raised pie it was the best ive ever tasted. My 3 companions all had fish and chips which they all enjoyed but they could not eat it all( very large portions).we had breakfast 2 mornings could not fault it there was such a good choice. Full english, croissants and pastries, cereals, toast and fruit juice. The dining room and kitchen staff get 10 out of 10. But as i said earler housekeeping not up to standard 6 out of 10
