Excellent, friendly hosts who made us feel very welcome. Like home from home! Very comfortable accommodation with a fascinating history, in a perfect location for exploring the Peak District and Buxton itself. The breakfast options are varied and are suitable for all dietary requirements.

We had a 3 night stay over the bank Holiday weekend, which incorporated a visit to the Buxton Opera House to see a show. A superb location to explore the Peak District from. The accommodation is comfy and clean. The breakfast was superb, and the hosts most welcoming and helpful. Just a short walk into Buxton, where there are plenty of superb restaurants and bars. We would highly recommend staying here.

Absolutely loved our stay here. I went with two friends and their 6-year-old son. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and kind. The accommodation is modern and comfortable. The grounds are well maintained. The guest house is an easy walk to Buxton (I do recommend following their recommended walking route through the residential area rather than walking along the main road). Breakfast was filling and delicious. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We had an amazing stay at the Hawthorn guest house during the Easter holidays. The place is so full of character! The hosts, Paul and Sarah are very welcoming, friendly and have a great sense of humour. The room was very clean and cosy and our family of four had everything we needed. The breakfast was sublime! The food was delicious and the dining room was so atmospheric. Highly recommended!☆☆☆☆☆

Built over 400 years ago this place has some great character. We stay in the family room (room 2). The room was excellent. The facilities and bed were fantastic. Had a great nights sleep. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had with an excellent offering. Paul and Sarah were great hosts from the moment we arrived. Highly recommend staying here.

I loved everything about this B&B, the rooms were small but done to a high standard with some lovely little touches. The shower was fabulous and the owners super helpful. They provided a lovely breakfast and catered for the needs of me and my partner with no problem - one vegan and one gluten free. I'd have loved to stay longer and will definitely go back.

Paul & Sarah sind wunderbare Gastgeber. Das kleine Zimmer war äußerst gemütlich, warm und sehr sauber. Das frisch zubereitete vorzügliche Frühstück hat uns ausgesprochen gut geschmeckt. Das geschichtsträchtige Farmhouse hat uns sehr beeindruckt. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen!
