Southern Cross Atrium Apartments

Great SC apartments to stay. Had medical appointments and this place is very central and close to big shopping centre. Felt very safe and secure. Beds comfortable and kitchen fully equipped.

A comfortable, quiet apartment. Adequately equipped kitchenette and nice balcony. The service from Reception Staff was great in sorting out a few minor issues. Location is convenient for the Esplanade, trains & shopping malls.

We stayed 2 nights, mainly to be close to the Cairns Train station for the Kuranda scenic train trip, and to be able to cook in our own kitchen. It's a short walk to a major shopping centre. The apartment was clean and spacious but nothing to brag about. Everything worked fine. The staff were very nice and helpful. Our room, facing a street, was a bit noisy especially with the garbage trucks. All up...can't complain...but nothing fabulous.

I recently stayed at Southern Cross Atrium Apartments and overall had a pleasant experience. The location is definitely one of the highlights—it’s conveniently situated within walking distance of the ferry terminal, which was perfect for my Great Barrier Reef outing. Additionally, having supermarkets nearby made it easy to pick up groceries and essentials, adding to the convenience. The room itself was well-equipped, especially for longer stays. It came with a full set of cooking utensils and kitchen facilities, which made it easy to prepare meals and feel at home. However, one drawback was the WiFi. The signal in the room was quite weak, which made it difficult to get online consistently. This was a bit frustrating, especially when I needed to do some research or planning for the next day’s activities. I often had to move around to find a better signal, which wasn’t ideal. Overall, Southern Cross Atrium Apartments offers great value with its prime location and self-contained rooms, but improving the WiFi would make the stay even better for travelers who need reliable internet access.

My flight was delayed, but they handled check-in even at midnight and were very kind. The operations were smooth, and I was extremely satisfied. However, be aware that there is no elevator. The hair dryer was broken, but when I called, they brought a brand-new one within three minutes. I highly recommend it.
