Southern Cross Atrium Apartments

Great stay, even better than expected. We were lucky and got a room with a great view. The location was incredibly convenient and close to many nearby amenities. The doorbell phone to ring the night manager by Gate 1 was not working however, luckily someone was coming out and was kind enough to let us in to ring the night manager at the main phone.

We stayed here in 2024 and loved it so much that we come back this year ! It's situated in a great location, next door to Cairns Central so shopping was literally on our doorstep. The rooms are lovely and clean, there are 3 great swimming pools, and it's a nice walk to the esplanade where you can have a lovely walk into the centre and you'll have a great selection of eateries to choose from. Happy hour is offered by a lot of places, so we personally enjoyed having a drink and watching the sightseeing helicopter land right in front of you and watching the sun set ,it's just the best! It's also a pleasant walk to the Cock and Ball Pub going the other way but make sure you're hungry though because the meals are huge!!

Overinflated settlement costs. Stubborn and unyielding to guests’ attempts of proportionate compensation. Unreasonable monetary claims over minor wipeable blemish on cooktop that resulted into over AUD600 for alleged total replacement of stove. The property manager is really unhelpful and unreasonable. Really not recommended.

Really nice apartment with lots of amenities on site which made travelling easier. The room itself was clean and spacious with good appliances. Location was also brilliant right near the central mall and bus station and also not to far a walk or drive from the seafront and main bars and restaurants. Only thing that I can think of that let it down abit is that you are right under a flight path which can wake you up in the morning when the planes are coming in to land. Otherwise I would definitely recommend for the price.

Great SC apartments to stay. Had medical appointments and this place is very central and close to big shopping centre. Felt very safe and secure. Beds comfortable and kitchen fully equipped.

I have stayed many hotels in Australia recently, including Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Cairns. This is by far the WORST hotel I've stayed. The facilities are rather old, no washer and drier in the room, no dish washer, and everything looked so old. There were no glass windows too, so there were noises from all over the places.  Every morning around 4 am, there were big noises from the swimming pool waked me up. The location is also bad. I had to walk 20-30 minutes to find good restaurants. I am quite surprised that the rating for the hotel was high in trip.com. This is by FAR the WORST hotel I have stayed in Australia.

We stayed 4 nights, really close to Cairns central train station and shopping mall. About 15 min walk to promenade. We really liked our room on first floor overlooking a pool.

Great location to Cairns CBD and water front. Friendly welcome at the reception. Stone throw away from the shopping mall, which has 2 big supermarket for all your essentials. Even though was close by, the apartment was quiet, very little traffic noise. Had 2 pools which looked good. Very clean and well equipped, would stay here again.
