Oceanpoint Ranch

I kept in touch with someone via text on the day we checked in. I texted that we'd be arriving around 9pm. We arrived at 9pm. My family waited for 20 minutes at an empty front desk to get our room keys. There was nowhere to sit in the lobby because a group was having a party with wine there. The teenager who finally checked us in said we could have a late checkout at 1pm, because no one was checking into our room the following day. I received a text the next morning, saying we needed to check out at 11. I called the front desk. The woman who answered was very rude. She said she "didn't know who was working last night", and that we had to pay to check out late. She refused to let me speak to a manager. She refused to believe that the boy had given us permission to check out late for no charge. She was basically calling me a liar! We had to quickly finish our mediocre breakfast from their restaurant, shower, and pack up 4 people in a little over 30 minutes! It was the most frustrating experience. I will never recommend this motel. Also, the beds were hard, the room was very dimmly lit at night, and the bathroom was dirty.

The hotel was super cute and right by the beach boardwalk. At the end of town, so very quiet. We had a room with a patio, but the patio was tiny and a bit run down. The decor in the room was elegant and the beds were comfy. However, the shower floor was filthy and was missing body wash. We had to use the hand soap. Plenty of towels and the heater in the bathroom was nice, but the floors were dusty and we found dead bugs. Only one mirror in the bathroom . Would love to have a full length mirror in the room on the weirdly totally huge blank wall, so people can get ready if someone is using the bathroom. Or at least another mirror anywhere outside the bathroom. It was great to have a fridge and coffee maker, but for the price of the room, I expected glasses and ceramic mugs instead of just plastic and paper for wine and coffee. It would also be lovely to have a ceiling fan or fan for sleeping. There was only a wall heater. But overall a pleasant experience. The staff was sweet and the yard games were cool.

We love the property & the outside fire pit / game area. Although there’s no beach view from the property as it’s obscured by trees. The room itself is beautifully decorated with pretty but SUPER DUPER heavy comforters which, without fail, ALWAYS end up on the floor. Then you are left with a VERY thin blanket. The room layout was very disappointing though. Room 126. We like to hang out in the room a lot. There’s only one chair , silly because plenty of room for two chairs. We end up eating our charcuterie board & pastry breakfasts sitting awkwardly on the bed 🙄 And there’s a large awkward empty space at the back of the room. It would be so easy to put a small table & chairs or anything like a pretty piece of furniture. The room really lacked countertop areas so even just a cheap table would be better than nothing. Apparently this is the area where claw foot bathtubs go in other rooms? Bummer … that would’ve been great. Might be looking elsewhere next time.

Very dark room, needs more lighting. Needs to be updated. Bathroom and shower are small. Can hear vehicles coming and going in the parking lot at all hours of the night.
