Quy Mill Hotel & Spa, Cambridge

Never stayed at this hotel before got it booked as a gift for me and my boyfriend, the first day we arrived we was allowed to check in early which we thought was great, we had a 3 course dinner included on the first night which was amazing. The second day we went down to breakfast and the service was terribly slow but we were able to have continental breakfast aswell as a cooked breakfast. We booked a afternoon tea for that day when we went down they had lost our reservations but they was able to sit us down we got asked if we would like tea or coffee and that our afternoon tea wouldn’t be long, they brought over our drinks which we was left sat there for 10minutes without milk! And then we was sat there for half an hour and our afternoon tea didn’t arrive no one was around to ask so my boyfriend had to go to the reception to ask where it was all they offered us was a complimentary drink! I don’t think it was worth £50!. The next day when we was due to leave well don’t get me started we went down for breakfast and it was a absolute shambles we had to look in cupboards for our own plates and cups as there wasn’t any and we didn’t even bother having a cooked breakfast that was included as it was a joke! I had to ask for more bread as there was none! And I told my boyfriend stuff this we are leaving and so we did!. The room was really nice and the bed was comfy we had a spa bath in our room to which we wasn’t told that it wasn’t working my boyfriend found that out from the maintenance guy!. We told the manager about all of this when we left but all she offered us was a free afternoon tea which I don’t think was good enough because we traveled 2 hours to get here and that wouldn’t be worth our time as we would have to book a one nights stay just for a free afternoon tea no thanks!.

Great place, very clean, friendly staff, would stay again

we stayed in room 7 in the main building past the breakfast room and up the stairs a good size room with a good size bathroom that was a bit cold it had two sinks the first one blocked it drained slow the shower head had to be held in place or it would keep falling down the toilet you have too keep pumping the handle to get a full flush and the tv timer was set two hours a head so you could not use the TV guide I did mention it to reception but nothing can be done on the weekend no maintenance people there are the thing I would expect to find in a motorway service lodge when paying £55 pound a night not at a hotel like this where you pay £150 plus a night NOT GOOD ENOUGH

Such poor service! Kind but totally overwhelmed by their job! I left the breakfast room without eating because the waitress there showed the typical "customer avoidance tactics", while the young ones were not allowed to take orders. Took the receptionist ages to check us in. Dinner was okay, wine menu poor. Great rooms though! Big & comfortable.

Usually they say pay peanuts get monkeys. In this instance, I paid in Golden Nuggets and got Baboons. Bathroom not cleaned properly, steam room shut, walls paper thin and can hear neighbours all night. Hardly got any sleep at all as bed was uncomfortable. Room looks very different in real life to the photos - Worse furniture, worse design, scratches and scrapes all over the paint work. Looked terrible.

Comfortable hotel, but poor shower. Excellent restaurant but they don’t trust their customers! Unable to charge the bill to our our room because we had not paid £50 “pre-authorisation”. Never have I stayed in a hotel where I have been unable to charge the hotel restaurant bill to my room. The hotel needs to trust its customers and not make unreasonable demands on them. Nil points!

Good stay, nice and quiet, the spa was wonderful, great opening times and bever to busy. Pool, jaquzzi, steam room, sauna and gym all free to use by guests! This is definately the best part. Room was nice and clean but could do with being updated and freshened up if you are picky but was warm, comfortable and quiet for our two night stay. Didnt eat at the hotel so cannot comment but what we saw looked nice. Overall pleasant stay and would stay again

When we arrived there was a large wedding on & we felt awkward when having dinner & drinks as we were amongst this for the majority of the evening. We felt like we were crashing their wedding & they apologised to us also (not their fault). Our room also faced on to their garden/river area where they were out talking until midnight. Slow bar service, ran out of wine & couldn’t get in the cellar for more? £21 for a single Malibu & coke and a glass of wine which is insane. Dinner was pretty bland & small portion so we went to bed hungry. Looked into the spa but caught sight of a screaming child in the pool and thought better of it. Room was cosy & bed comfy but very dated. Bathroom floor was cracked, dusty fans/towel rail & pink mould around shower. Generous with tea and coffee in the room. Breakfast service was slow but tasted good. Very mixed feelings on this place - we had a nice time but felt a little uncomfortable.
