Clean sheets, all the things you need - kettle, tea, coffee, hairdryer, plenty of storage. Room was big and view of garden lovely. Owner was friendly and around when needed. Surprised at the other reviews. It was basic, but fine. I'd stay again.

Stayed here for 2 days following my other accomodation booking being cancelled. With the time lapse between my original booking and this one the prices had doubled in the area because of the festival that was on, leaving this as my only option in my budget. I had read the reviews and decided to book anyway despite them being mainly bad. On arrival Mr Gregory greeted me, he offered to to take me to the shops so I knew my way and could pay him but it was more the latter. He advised that if anyone wanted to see me whilst I stay I need to meet them outside because he will not allow visitors. I advised that this was new to me and I have never encountered a problem before and he told me if I dont like it he can return my money and I can book into the Hilton down the road for £300 per night. When I asked where I could get water he advised I cak use the faucet in the bathroom because its all the same water! I am aware that in most places the water comes from one source and is drinkable but its not most peoples practice to drink eater from their bathrooms. He advised he is unable to allow guests to use the kitchen as its a guesthouse? Again, I have never heard of not being avle to ise the kitchen in a guesthouse, only that they usually do not allow cooking but microwaving is okay. For Mr Gregory the microwave use was also prohibited and he would warnlm up whatever it is you want to consume. My room was clean. There was a small fridge inaide the room with a tiny tv. The tv is probably around my laptop screen size and on the far side of the wall. If you use glasses bring them! I mostly watched my phone and aometimes glanced up at the tv but it was annoying and there was not many working channels. There is a kettle, tea bags and sugar and a couple packets of biacuit snacks (more ia in the frontroom) and Mr Gregory advised I can take as much as I want. I read others moaning about stale milk. My milk was not stale but i did bite into some off biscuits. :-/ The bathroom was 95% clean. The flush was stiff to flush and on the first attempt debris fell from around the handle. I removed my slippers to step on the rug in the bathroom as I would at home and boy oh boy was that a big mistake! I stepped in something wet and I felt sick. I lntially i thought it must be from the toilet basin but it was the shower thankfully (toss up.really - toilet water or shower water? Which do you prefrr???) :-/ The tiling around the base was leaking.... the towel hand rail had smashed glass on one corner??? The light pulley is stained from all of the dirty hands using it over the years and needs replacing (someone else mentioned this too). Onthe second day Mr Gregory advised the cleaner was in and asked if I wanted the room cleaned but I didnt want to be bothered and said no. After going out on the first night and returning in a windy wet evening I was very cold. Soon as I entered the building the heat hit me and i was so glad to be back in the warmth un

We stayed for one night after attending a concert. The positives ..The location was good and our room was huge as was the bed which was a superking size. Parking in front of the hotel. Had a small ensuite which was functional. Good night's sleep as was at the back of the house and comfy bed. Coffee making facilities in room . But downsides are no breakfast and the room and carpets need attention - very dated. Wifi didnt work despite given a password. .so disappointed. Wont stay there again.
