Clayton Hotel Cambridge

This is my second time staying here in Cambridge, and I'm just as impressed as before. The room is spacious and tastefully decorated. I really appreciated the complimentary Nespresso capsules and cookies. It's super close to the train station, and about a 15-minute walk to the city center. Plus, there are supermarkets and fast food places nearby, which makes everything really convenient.

Modern, elegant

The breakfast was excellent and delicious, with a wide variety of fruits, yogurts, and more. I was very satisfied with it. However, on my last day, when I checked out and needed to store my luggage, the front desk attendant was busy with something else. I was in a hurry to catch my train, but they didn't help me retrieve my luggage promptly. I found the front desk attendant to be very inflexible; they could have been more accommodating and helped me with my luggage first, especially since I was rushing for my train.

The location is fantastic, very close to the train station, with restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The breakfast was good, and museums and several colleges were all within walking distance. We were very satisfied.

Right outside the train station, and it's easy to get to the city center by foot or bus. It's very clean and the rooms are quite spacious. The breakfast is good.

This was the worst hotel stay I've ever had, and the hotel's handling of the situation was utterly disappointing. Upon check-in, the front desk asked if we wanted housekeeping, and we explicitly declined. However, when we returned to our room the next day, it was clear that housekeeping had entered and tidied up. I discovered that a pair of disposable underwear I had left in the room, and more critically, my eye drops for a chronic eye condition, were missing. With the eye drops gone, I had no medication that night, which led to immense pain and suffering. We immediately complained to the front desk, hoping to recover the medication or get an explanation. The hotel said they would speak with the cleaning staff, but the final response was a denial that they had discarded my eye drops. What disappointed us most was that while we waited for a resolution, a staff member said they would go investigate, but no one ever followed up or responded to us again, even until our check-out. I can understand items being lost, but what I find unacceptable is the hotel's attitude in handling the problem. They refused to admit fault, disregarded a guest's suffering, and didn't even provide basic respect or a follow-up response. This behavior is far more disheartening than the loss of the items themselves. I urge everyone to choose this hotel with extreme caution.
