Riu Cancun - All Inclusive

Awesome hotel. Located in the heart of Cancun. Perfect location with crystal clear white sand beaches. Well-maintained swimming pools with party vibe every day. Delicious buffet food. Helping staff and many more. Must visit place. Thanks Riu for making our trip memorable 🙏.

Everything was great until the restaurant turned me and my wife away, Italian restaurant and steakhouse restaurant turned us away at 9pm and 9:05 pm, I was shocked, both restaurants state they close at 930pm that’s why I was shocked and upset, they both had plenty seating and zero wait time so I don’t know they did that but it happened!! All bar tenders and house keeping have the utmost hospitality and are amazing.

I stayed at the RIU Cancun from 05/08-05/12. Despite being sick upon arrival, overall my family and I had an amazing time! Check-in: I want to send a huge shout out to the woman who checked me in! We arrived around 11am so the rooms were not ready. I was feeling so sick she was gracious enough to find me a room that I could check into right away and lay down immediately! The staff continuously checked on me throughout my entire stay! I had the onsite doctor come to my room because I was so ill. He did suggest I go to the hospital to get some fluids in me. He stated the hospital is English friendly, they work with my insurance and they are very nice. WRONG! The hospital in Cancun was 0 out of 10! I was treated horribly, the didn't speak English, they tried to swindle me out of $3,000, then when I said I refuse the recommended treatment and asked if I could just get an IV with fluids they told me no. Overall it was a very weird unpleasant experience. Rooms: The only thing I dislike about the rooms is how they automatically push the beds together. If it's double beds then just keep them apart. That's just a personal opinion but that's not a good enough reason to give it a negative review. Food: I was so sick with a stomach bug (that started at home) I wasn't able to really eat how I normally would. My family said the food was good. My very last day I was able to eat an omelet but I was not a fan of how the lady made it. Drinks: My family stated the drinks were amazing! The only thing I didn't particularly like at this resort was they don't have photographers on site. I love getting my professional pictures taken while on vacation so it was a bummer they didn't have them there. Overall, the RIU Cancun owes me and my family nothing!! We had an amazing time!

Hotel beautiful, food lovely, staff very nice and friendly. Sunbed situation best I’ve ever experienced abroad as can get a bed any time of the day. BUT BUT it’s an adult only hotel which we knew but we did not think was going to a 18-21 hotel with no control via security. A very loud hotel with lots of drunken youngsters which is fine as have young adult children myself BUT can be very overwhelming and some what scary at times when arguing drunken youngsters with no security to guide them on their way or even defuse the situations. A hotel not for mature adults that want peace but ok if you’re young at heart and want to relive your youth once again and join in the drunken loud youngsters. We have not, not enjoyed our holiday as we have but would not be returning to this particular hotel again even though a nice hotel as prefer the peaceful life these days.

I really enjoyed myself and had a great time at this adult only, all inclusive resort! The food/drinks and the staff were wonderful! I will vacation here again!

We have been to this hotel twice, but this year wasn't so good! We were here from the UK in May 2025; the hotel seemed to have a different vibe. We just left the hotel on May 13th, 2026, after a 7-night stay with TUI. We were left wondering what had happened. We were first given a room on Floor 2 with a view of a white wall and a view of some palm tree leaves. We complained and were moved to the 7th floor, for which we were so grateful. This time we experienced no pool drink service the whole seven days (we loved this last year), so we had to get our drinks from the pool bar (which was usually busy). We were made to feel very uncomfortable asking for a beer before noon from one of the bar staff. Other issues, like lifts being broken (2 of the 4), caused long waits with queues, especially when people returned from Riu parties (many people braved the stairs). The last of the bad things was the food in the Miramar. Food like the bacon was so overcooked that you struggled to even eat it. Many positives still exist here, like the cleanliness of the hotels' public areas. Restaurant staff are lovely and attentive; the pool area vibe is amazing. Riu does an amazing job of clearing the ugly seaweed too. It's an adult-only hotel, which is amazing. I was in the Riu Palace Peninsula in January and would have loved this hotel to be child-free too. Rooms are so basic, but we didn't mind this at the price point.

The Mattress was as if I was sleeping on a wooden pallet with a sheet on it. But everything else was great service, Excellent trip besides the uncomfortable sleep.

If I could give this a zero star I would, where to begin, the rooms were outdated and disgusting mould everywhere in the pillows on the chairs on the bed sheets in the shower it was vile then my boyfriends expensive Dior T-shirts got stolen out his suitcase and my brothers stone island shorts got stolen out of his, staff were useless and accused our family’s of stealing like that would ever happen was clearly one of the cleaners, one. Ight my mum was severely unwell so I went to the Buffett to take food up to her and got told I was not allowed sorry but for our family we paid 13k for this holiday and the way we were treated was disgraceful will never ever return to this hotel

I love RIU hotels. No reservations required, plenty of pool chairs, very clean. Well laid out. Negative, did not like the frosted window in bathroom to bedroom, shows your silhouette when showering. Also showed two buffet restaurants when there was only one buffet with two eating areas, inside and outside. Otherwise I will continue to pick RIU hotels for my vacations.
