Sentido Galomar - Adults Only

This place was very clean, modern, and had a great breakfast. Very quiet and beautiful views. Definitely book a spa appointment ahead of your reservation, as they were al booked up while we were there and the prices were quite reasonable. Skip dinner in their restaurant - the food was just okay if not overcooked and there are delicious and affordable, local restaurants in the area. Great stay!

Amazing hotel! Very nice location with gorgeous views! Staff was very friendly! Food was AMAZING! Would 100% come back here! It was very calm in the hotel and around the pools. Great experience! Would recommend this for sure. Can't say one bad thing..

We have just returned from a week at this amazing hotel. Upon arrival late on a Monday evening, the chap on reception was so welcoming, even booking us a meal at a lovely restaurant a few minutes walk from the hotel as their buffet had finished by the time we arrived. This amazing service continued throughout the whole holiday, with nothing too much trouble for the staff, who were so friendly and helpful. Their ability to speak so many languages is incredible! The location of the hotel is stunning, built into a clifftop with amazing views of the sea and cliffs. The views from the restaurant and bar are out of this world and breakfast (which is delicious with great choices, particularly for veggies!) overlooking the sea was like a dream each morning. We had toasties and drinks at the bar some days and also took part in a fantastic 'Sunset and Cocktails' evening, with 4 euro cocktails and a DJ. The pool areas at both hotels are fantastic, ours at the Galomar was so peaceful as it is adults only and there was a cool little bar serving drinks all day. We never had any trouble getting sun loungers at any time of day. The spa is an absolute delight - I had a massage and it was wonderful, plus the views in the spa are the best I've ever seen! The room was a good size and very comfortable, with Aircon, a fridge, a chaise longue and a huge rainshower. The only thing I would change is that we had two singles pushed together for a double whereas we would have preferred an actual double bed. We had booked a sea view room and were given a ground floor garden view room, although you could still see the sea and the pool so had a great view. There is lots to see and do in the surrounding area of Canico, with some lovely restaurants and a nice walk along the promenade. We caught the bus into Funchal some days, which was only 2 euros 20 each and easy to do. We also booked some trips, which were amazing. Madeira is a beautiful island and this is a wonderful hotel, with great facilities, lovely staff and a great vibe. I also loved the fact it is an eco hotel and has won awards- it was the first time we had ever been in a solar powered lift before! We had a fabulous time and will definitely be returning. Lovely decor and stunning location.. a bit further out from any form of nightlife than I’d have liked. The food was delicious and is 5/5.. as is the view. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.. we had a side sea view room but we’re more than happy with that. Sadly most of the staff were cold and unapproachable..ironically reception staff being the worst.. not the best welcome after an early morning flight! The evening entertainment was ok but finished early. We loved the sporting and gym activities.. (hiking the local area is a must!) but in general the feeling of the hotel was very subdued..sterile.. and needs a bit more life pumping into it! For example the pool area was deathly silent all the time.. to talk you had to whisper. Probably best suited to people who don’t like being around other people much and prefer quietness and solitude.
