"A perfect place for rest and relaxation. We are here at the moment. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and made up of a number of two storey buildings in the gardens. The gardens are beautiful but I bet even better in spring or early summer. We are B&B and the breakfast is fantastic plenty to choose from. We opted to eat in the restaurant on Madeira night and it cost £37.50 per person including wine. It was good food. The rooms are a little dated I prefer the term quaint. Some of the doors on furniture may not hang straight, the bath has seen better days (chipped enamel) but everything is clean and there are loads of draws and wardrobe space. Ours is an apartment with a kitchenette which has all you need. Nearby is a supermarket and a handful of bars but not many places to eat out if like us B&B. I would name staff who we have been good but the list would be too long. All staff seem to speak very good English and German some French too. The reception staff are incredibly informative and helpful."

"Great hotel! The room is fresh, clean, and what a stunning view of the ocean! Large territory, 2 pools, one right by the ocean. Parking is free, we always found a place (if you don’t arrive too late). Breakfasts are very good and varied, lots of fruits, different cheeses, and even smoothies. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! We will definitely come back again."

"Fantastic hotel! Location right by the ocean, free shuttle bus to the center of Funchal, ala carte themed restaurant, delicious food - varied and a lot of seafood, all inclusive works flawlessly - I don't know which sangria is better red or white. Rooms spotlessly clean functional large bathroom. In the evening, animations including Portuguese folklore - I greet Filip from the reception who stole the show :) Service at the highest level - If Madeira is for sure RIU. The view from the restaurant from the terrace is great. Not far from the hotel at the end of the boardwalk, you can go up the cliff off the trail."

"Na een zwaar jaar hadden we beiden heel erg nood aan rust en ontspanning, we kozen online voor mooie hotels. Bij het aankomen merkten we dat er grote werken aan de gang waren. We zijn de kamer gaan checken, maar we werden bijna terug buiten gedrild door de machines. Bij het checken van de kamer waren de terrasmeubelen stuk, waren de gangen, vies en donker. We voelden ons hier echt niet goed. Bij het vragen naar annulering ging dit eerst niet. Dan weer wel. dan weer niet. Een waardebon voor 2 jaar konden we krijgen. Helaas is dat voor ons niet meer van toepassing. Ik kon geen manager spreken... inmiddels ook 2 x gemaild maar geen antwoord. De man achter de balie belde de balieverantwoordelijke, zelfs haar kleding was heel vies (Ze vroeg of ik kinderen heb, en jawel, maar op mijn werk draag ik nette kledij). Geen plek om tot rust te komen. Geen airco. Vies en stuk meubilair. Vergane glorie! Geen oor naar klachten. Dan was Sentido Galomar 10 sterren waard! After a tough year, we both really needed rest and relaxation, we chose beautiful hotels online. Upon arrival, we noticed that there were major works going on. We went to check the room, but we were almost drilled back outside by the machines. When checking the room, the patio furniture was broken, the hallways were dirty and dark. We really didn't feel good here. When asking for cancellation, this was not possible at first. Then again, yes. then again, it doesn't. A voucher for 2 years we could get. Unfortunately, that no longer applies to us. I couldn't speak to a manager... In the meantime I have also emailed 2 times but no answer. The man behind the counter called the desk manager, even her clothes were very dirty (She asked if I have children, and yes, but I wear smart clothes at work). Not a place to unwind. No air conditioning. Dirty and piece of furniture. Faded glory! No ear for complaints. Then Sentido Galomar was worth 10 stars!"
