This old hotel was updated and well maintained. Very elegant. The staff was friendly and amazing. The breakfasts were gourmet. It was in an active neighborhood with many restaurant choices. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our hotel choice.

We had chosen this hotel for its size and following a recommendation and from first crossing the threshold we were warmly welcomed and treated as if we were the sole occupants of the hotel. Our room was very well presented and had all necessary amenities and facilities, while the general hotel area provided a sense of tranquility and calm. The restaurant, where breakfast was also served, did not in any way let the other aspects of the hotel down, with first class quality food and attentive service. The hotel also has a very useful shuttle bus service, for conveyance to other parts of this iconic city.

What a lovely bouquet hotel in a quiet neighborhood yet not too far from anything! They gave us a grand room with incredible amenities! During the day they have high tea with yummy treats followed by an happy hour with delicious canapés. They have a small pool and a fitness room that is convenient. We had a very comfortable stay here and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet corner of Cape Town next to a superb Upper Union restaurant!

A well run hotel full of charm. The staff are lovely and always ready to help. Special mention to Jacko on the front desk who did everything we asked with a cheerful attitude. Bedrooms and public rooms are spotlessly clean and attractively decorated. The hotel car will take you wherever you want to go. If I return to Cape Town I will look forward to returning

The hotel is nice enough. The food next door was trying so hard it became inedible. We left after one night due to the excessive (and a bit scary) noise outside. The surrounding area is certainly not the least safe in Capetown, but it isn’t the safest either. That was made apparent by the comments we received when being dropped off by drivers not to go outside past dinner time, and also the types of noises we heard outside at nighttime. The front desk tried to say it was totally safe, which makes me worried others will believe them and could ultimately end up in a bad situation. The pool is basically a fountain and it’s right on the street for all to see in case privacy and calm is on your mind. A few good things were the welcoming arrival with a drink and guided tour, the room was set up nicely, and our laundry came back promptly.

Beautiful hotel with exceptional staff and every comfort you could wish for. Our room was spacious, bathrobes, comfortable bed, tea / coffee everything you could need. A complimentary welcome drink and cakes when you arrive. Breakfast offered a great choice, beautifully cooked and so fresh. As you are right on Kloof Street you can easily walk to some excellent restaurants. We tried Kloof Street House which we would highly recommend and certainly revisit, the food and atmosphere were excellent. The hotel offers a shuttle (if you don’t take the scheduled one there is a small / reasonable charge but then you can take it at times to suit you) to the V&A waterfront or your chosen restaurants. We had a fabulous time and would certainly revisit.

Exactly what we wanted! We love modern, clean, small, well appointed boutique hotels that have excellent, accommodating staff. Cape Cadogen nailed it. Where do I start…the location for exploring Cape Town is perfect. A short Uber to everything, makes the location ideal. From the moment you walk up the steps of the hotel and are greeted with a warm smile, to every little detail in the room, our stay was amazing. I can’t say enough about the staff and their knowledge of local activities and sites. Lastly, the Upper Union house, which is the associated restaurant, is a can’t miss. We make it a point to never eat at the same place twice on vacation and we ate here twice and wanted to again, but made ourselves try another restaurant. Well done! We highly recommend this hotel!
