Excellent location at Waterfront quiet yet close by to all local restaurants. Try the sunset cruise.

While I wasn't a fan of the fixed showerhead in the bathroom, this hotel is otherwise highly recommended for anyone traveling to Cape Town. Protea is South Africa's national flower, and this hotel chain, named after it, boasts an elegant, castle-like exterior, as its second building was formerly a prison. Under the Southern Hemisphere's summer sun, it perfectly complements Signal Hill in the background. The central courtyard is lush and green. We stayed on the second floor of the second building, watching the professors and students from the business school below come and go. The third building houses the restaurant; a five-minute walk down the steps and a left turn brings you to the waterfront. During our stay, Ms. Gail at the front desk was incredibly helpful. She resolved an issue where our room didn't match the photos on the booking website and even arranged for someone to assist us with the complicated process of booking tickets for Table Mountain National Park. Throughout this, I witnessed the familial camaraderie among the hotel staff and their genuine, easy smiles.

The location is good, as you can walk to the supermarket. The room door felt a bit thin and flimsy, which was a little concerning. It's an old prison converted into a hotel, but it's clean (though you can still see traces of its past in places).

Everything was excellent, and the room had a fantastic view of Table Mountain. Very satisfied.

Although our family room was not that big, I like this hotel for superb location, free parking, cheap and good breakfast

The hotel is clean and hygienic, with beautiful public areas, and offers excellent value for money in the Victoria Harbour area. The staff are friendly and proactive in providing assistance, and it's safe and convenient to walk to the Victoria Harbour area.

The hotel is located inside the Business School of the University of Cape Town. It has a beautiful building and is said to have a long history. The environment is good, quiet, and safe. You can take an Uber directly to the yard. The location is great, next to the waterfront. The entire commercial area is patrolled by security guards. As long as it is not too late at night, it is no problem to wander around alone. The roadside next to the hotel is the citysightseeing station and service point, and there is also a very famous aquarium. The hotel itself is a bit shabby according to the current domestic standards. The lobby and rooms are relatively small, and the facilities are also a bit simple, but the overall maintenance is relatively clean, and the waiters clean very carefully. Basically, the stay is quite comfortable, and the breakfast is good
