"This hotel is amazing ! Firstly I arrived early before check-in time. The friendly receptionist shared that the hotel offers a free safe luggage room (in the lobby area) , where I stored my luggage then went to explore the town. There are many restaurants/coffee shops and the bo-kaap tourist attraction at a walking distance from the hotel. 5-10 minute drive to the V&A water front. 35+ minutes to wine farms & about 25 minutes to camps bay. The hotel was very clean, safe and they served an amazing breakfast. The lobby/lounge also has charging ports"
"The room is not bad ~
People with a big body may feel that the bed board is not very solid ~
Some room sockets are broken ~
The hotel does not provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, disposable slippers! ! !
Last year's breakfast has not changed, and this year there is progress. Although it still can't satisfy the Chinese stomach, there are some changes anyway.
I will recommend it next time, because the scenery is invincible ~~"
"Had a great time. Id definitely come bsck here. Decent breaky spread including a salad bar, scrambled eggs or omelette. Plus cereals pastries anf fruit.
Room was tidy. Had a safe. Gym was excelldnt. Staff were do lovely too.
Security guys were super helpful. You take a uber everywhere pretty much so this was a great base. Although did walk to shops and few attractions."
"New apartment hotel, walking distance to the shopping center near the hotel, there are many dining inside, good value for money. Breakfast is very rich. Half an hour from the airport, the industrial park is nearby, the environment is good"
"Good hotel in price/quality ratio. Excellent location near the beach and all the facilities. Super welcoming and polite staff 🤗 In the rooms clean, clean every day. Thank you very much 🙏🏼 I would gladly recommend it!"
"Very strategic location, clean hotel, good breakfast, hotel in heritage building,I have a good view from my room with terace…,very recomended hotel when you are in Cape town near waterfront just walking distance"
"The hotel is located inside the Business School of the University of Cape Town. It has a beautiful building and is said to have a long history. The environment is good, quiet, and safe. You can take an Uber directly to the yard.
The location is great, next to the waterfront. The entire commercial area is patrolled by security guards. As long as it is not too late at night, it is no problem to wander around alone. The roadside next to the hotel is the citysightseeing station and service point, and there is also a very famous aquarium.
The hotel itself is a bit shabby according to the current domestic standards. The lobby and rooms are relatively small, and the facilities are also a bit simple, but the overall maintenance is relatively clean, and the waiters clean very carefully. Basically, the stay is quite comfortable, and the breakfast is good"
"The location of this hotel is good and safe, but I don’t really like the parking fee of 50 rand per day. There is a shopping mall in the back and it is very convenient to walk there. The room is enough for two people. You can see Table Mountain and the sea from the window. I stayed at the hotel on the first day It is beautiful to see the sunset directly, but the check-in time is 3:00 a.m., we can only put down our luggage at 1:00 a.m. and go out for a walk"
"The bed is very comfortable, we slept like logs, the embankment is 25 minutes walk away, 5 minutes by taxi, a good breakfast, a choice of a burger with egg, bacon and fries, or pancakes with jam, or soup, or cereal with yogurt
Towels were given upon check-in, a hairdryer upon request, luggage is stored in the storage room for free 😁
There is no table in the room, just three ottomans, I ordered two separate beds, they gave me one, I had to go and sort it out, after a day on the road

KKeyloI had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location was perfect, close to all the amenities I needed, making it easy to get around. The rooms were very clean and well-maintained. I also appreciated the 24/7 gym, which was a big plus for my schedule. The breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety of options to suit every taste. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Overall, a great place to stay, I’d definitely return!

JJulian PeensThis bed and breakfast is in the ideal location to visit Simon’s town and its coastline however the actual set up of the bed and breakfast is a huge let down.
We arrived to find our room was not ready, once it was the place still looked unkempt, there was a bucket in the bath, the furniture had not been returned to its original locations well and the complimentary items seemed used.
On our second night there was load shedding a common occurrence however there seemed to be no precautionary measures taken and we had to use our phone lights to climb the three flights of stairs to our room only to find the rechargeable light (obviously for such occasions) had no batteries and was therefore useless. As South African citizens we fully understand the uncertainty of power but for the cost and normal clientele of this accommodation we really expected there to be more in place.
The meal times had been adjusted for the convenience of the staff who were on the premises compared to the welcome sheet details we received on arrival. The whole place seemed to be being run by support staff with no obvious manager on site for the three days we were there (we stayed over a weekend which I would assume to be a prime time)
There is about 4 parking sports in front of the building but they were not being used to their full potential and often we had to park a little further away.
Overall the location was the main positive. Considering the price we would have hoped to have better amenities and hope that the profile for this accommodation can be amended as there are no pools on the property unlike what the description had lead us to believe.
Luckily the charm of Simon’s town and the beaches made up for the serious lack of attention to detail and luxury you would assume a place this price and in this location would have.
3/10 would probably not go there again.
IIK ChanThe hotel location is the best, so close to the conference place and can walk to V&A waterfront around 20mins. Or you can take a hop on hop off bus to go around cape town, the bus stop also very close tho the hotel.
But honestly the hotel is not really clean, but the room is big enough! Better ask for nee renovated room, the old one is really old, you won’t like it.
And better bring your own slippers and teeth brush, cause the hotel didn’t provide but you can pay hotel to get one.
The breakfast is just ok, but there is a burger king near the hotel.
And need to be careful when go out, especially during night time.

JJason2023Pros
Great location - a short drive to the waterfront and close to Table Mountain, Lions Head and the Botanical Garden where Uber will get you there quickly and for a good price.
Staff were very good
Breakfast was cooked very well and with good quality ingredients and a varied selection. It would be better if they had soft bread rather than the heavier one provided (althouh this could be a more European variety i havent come across before).
The room was homely, as is the whole building (a bit of a British Grade 2 listed building kind of feel).
Nice views over capetown in some rooms and a mountain view from the back.
Room has heating and air con for all seasons.
Cons
As mentioned in a previous review, the room is quite dusty so if you are messing around with plugs behind the bed or tv, it's a challenge not to breathe in the dust.
I think this could be a SA thing rather than the hotel itself but they only provide 1.5l of water which for a week is not enough, even for a solo traveller. You have to pay for any more. I have never come across this in 25 years of travel across 35 countries but again, i know there is a water issue in SA sometimes and I believe the tap water is drinkable (although I wouldn't attempt this as a tourist).
Bathroom towels not replaced - just left to dry which doesn't work particularly well in winter.
The photo of the hotel being near blue water is a little deceptive - obviously it is not near a beach and they don't suggest so but the body of water across the road is a water storage facility (currently empty) so don't expect tropical views. Having said that, if you get a city view room, the sunrise is right in front of you and a perfect time lapse opportunity as the scenery changes dramatically during the sunrise. Stunning experience.
Overall, I would stay again and recommend the hotel which is in a quiet location.
AAishBellzzzWe booked the same room again on the 25th. Then we requested to check out at 1pm. We didn’t hear anything from no one. This morning at 10am there was knocking on our door. The lady said its time to check out. I said mo cause we requested to check out at 1pm. She went ahead and said there are extra fees and she will ask the front desk. 5min later knocked again on the door. Says no we cant stay and have to check out at 11am(note this was at 10:20am) when she told me, I went ahead and told her this is on them and we requested to leave later. She left, next minute, a man came back. All arrogant. Told me why didn’t I pack up my bags the previous night. Also said that if I dont leave cleaners will come. I said its okah they can come but I might still be busy packing up. He said if thats the case they can help me put my stuff outside. I told him I dont like the tone he is using and being aggressive. He said hr not aggressive but he definitely was and threatened me with security that will escort me out. He left and came back(note I was in my towel) he said he left me in my towel and I am still the same( note I took a shower, busy packing up stuff in the room as we came from abroad and had a lot of baggage) he said he is calling security. Then my husband came out of the room and told him why he using that tone with me and he been listening to him the whole time! This man immediately changed his whole tune when he saw my husband. So inappropriate! And disrespectful! Will definitely will not be staying here again.

MMaxim KeynoThe hotel has a convenient location in the center of Cape Town. The rooms are comfortable enough for one or a young couple. If you plan to walk around the center - it's quite easy. I got to the Waterfront by walking in 20 minutes along busy streets and did not feel any danger anywhere. Small shops and supermarkets around the hotel allow you to cover all your everyday needs.
The breakfast is quite meager, but literally around the corner on the next street you can find good cafes where you can have a great breakfast for a reasonable price and a supermarket where you can buy ready-made food.
Immediately to the right of the exit from the hotel is the entrance to a beautiful park, from where wonderful views of the mountains open.
The staff is responsive and helps to solve all problems.
The only drawback is the noise from the air conditioning systems coming from the yard at night.

GGuest UserI would like to share my experience of staying in this apartment. We lived there very poorly because it’s a self-service setup with only two plates. If I’m using one plate for something else and my partner is using another plate, I no longer have a plate to prepare another dish. We literally had two plates in the house, as if it were a hotel where they would cook for us—we wouldn’t need more dishes for anything. How can I buy groceries for two plates, with literally one spoon per person and one teaspoon to share in the morning for our coffee, and one cup per person? Additionally, we did not have a broom, and it was very difficult to clean after ourselves. We had to wait for cleaning/maintenance to come for at 10am while we skip the dirt or use a tissue to clean, even though we don’t want to invite anyone in we had to choice , We can’t even scrub the floor on our own; we had to wait until we sleep and wait for them. No shower caps , no toothbrushes to toothpaste to start the stay ,not even little enough to get comfortable when you check in ,,I don’t recommend it for travelers who land late at night , it’s not helpful at all you sleep dirty here until shops open , they run out of heaters and leave you freezing in the room , check out time is 10am so it your flight is 6pm on the same day be prepared to roam around the streets like a homeless while you Stayed a night with them , what happened to 12pm check out time and 2pm as latest ??? My partner was working night shift and had to be kicked out at 10am with his flight at 6pm ! He asked to rest for 2 hours and check out at 12 they charged 50% of room rate for sleeping for 2 hours not even half a day. This apartment is not helpful at all and they prioritize charging you more instead of availing themselves for help , bedsheets are changed after 3 days which means if you on your periods as woman and you mess up the bedsheets you have to sleep with blood for the next 2 days -Why ??? I believe beds should be changed everyday as per the room rate calculations for each day unless they mean we pack our own bedsheets for emergencies…additionally there was a construction that would grill the roof while you sleeping at 8am so again my partner couldn’t sleep after working night shifts WITHOUT A WARNING!!! We regretted staying here and one traumatic issue of plates : I wash after every meal because no extra plates to push for another day , washing using my hands since there was no scrubbing 🧽 . I felt like i didn’t pay enough to stay here .
