We arrived on the evening of the 26th April 2024 between 6PM and 7PM. We parked in the secure underground parking facility and the car was stationary until we checked out of the hotel. Upon checking out on the 28th April 2024 at around 10:30AM, we noticed that our car had been knocked into. The vehicle parked in the spot next to the dent seemed to have scratches on the same side, so we thought we'd ask them if they knew anything about it. We immediately went up to reception to report the incident. To our surprise, reception was unaware of the incident and were unable to check who the suspected vehicle belonged to. Their story went from "They were supposed to check out tomorrow" to "They only came for breakfast". Security also kept confusing our incident with another similar incident that happened at the hotel the day before. This was absolutely infuriating and the more we asked to speak to a manager we were told that there was no manager on duty. An "assistant manager" insisted that an investigation was underway and that all we could do was wait on the response from security. Almost 3 hours later, we asked how far the investigation was and she said that they don't actually have cameras in the basement parking but that they were checking the cameras at the entrance to see when the suspected vehicle arrived. This was even more frustrating as we were initially told that there were cameras and that you guys would be able to see who knocked our vehicle. She even wrote down the wrong information as we told her that the knock was not there when we went to the car on Saturday 27th April 2024 to drop some groceries. Instead, she wrote down that the knock had been there on the 27th April 2024 and ruled out the suspected vehicle on account that they only arrived the Sunday morning and with that, letting the suspected vehicle leave the hotel. It is unacceptable to not have cameras in the basement parking. People come in, leave drunk and if they damage someone else's property you have absolutely no way of holding them accountable. We paid R70 per night for secure parking. The dent in our car is so significant, that there had to have been a big bang in the basement parking area when it was knocked. How was it that nobody heard it? The catering department entrance is in the same area that the car was parked and we often see staff walking there. How is it that none of the staff heard the bang in the basement parking area, least of all the security team? What's even more worrying is that nobody knew who the suspected vehicle belonged to. We had to run down to front security ourselves to find out if they knew anything about the vehicle. We even ended up in an altercation with the people, which could've been avoided if you had cameras in your parking area to prevent such issues. After demanding to speak with someone in a higher position we were introduced to and operations mamager, who told us what the hotel's procedure is. He checked our statement and instr
