Called in for a wine and rush and chips for dinner. The place was deserted. Eventually someone came in, i mentioned no one about. They went off to get staff. A lively lady came to attend to me and served my wine. I asked if the fish was local and fresh, she was t sure and checked with the kitchen. On returning apologised and and said the fish was from Victoria. I appreciate their honesty but was surprised and shocked to find that s coastal town would not sell and prompt their own produce. I decided against staying for dinner.

Ordered some takeaway. Do yourself a favour don’t order anything with prawns you would think being in a fishing town you wouldn’t get served crust over cooked cocktail prawns what a joke. Croutons not even cooked just thrown in, yeah divert straight past Carnarvon and don’t stop

This is the worst place I ever been to. The bed sheet hasn’t been changed, full of hair and strains. The floor hasn’t been cleaned or vacuumed for a long time either, ants everywhere, broken furniture. Bathroom? I didn’t get the courage to shower in there…RUN AWAY! This is a disgusting place.

Would definitely not recommend this place. Didn't take any pictures, but lets start with the bathroom: Chipped, peeling toilet seat with stained bowl. Accumulated gunk on floor behind the bowl, filthy grout and floor (wiped up splashes after my 1st shower and the towel was filthy. Hair and dust in shower with stained leak marks on the tiles. Mirror badly flaking the finish, no plug for a shave and extraction fan u/s. Beds, comfy enough but sheets looked like they had sat scrunched in the drier for a week, hardly inviting. Decor.... Amenities: 3 tea bags for a two day stay, with a semi used cigarette pinched off and stashed in with the coffee sachets. No table to eat or work off and a/c was cool only, on a 6°C night it was not appreciated. No wifi in the end rooms grrr. Restaurant: No door handle, ***, stick your finger in the hole for this missing handle... Leaves on the somewhat dirty floor. Only 3 people there and bugger all decor. Kegs rolled through restaurant during the meal, followed by the lovely scent of very strong Dettol as there keg area was mopped up. Yuk. Positive note here, the surf n turf was nice and the 1 saving grace of my stay. No provision for zero stars.

I will let the pics speak for themselves..disgusting, dirty and not secure! Whoever is paid to clean these rooms should rethink their standards. I don't mind old but dirty is not an acceptable standard from paying guests!

A simple place to stay over night. It's certainly dated but the staff are pretty cool. Dont judge it from the outside, the air conditioner works, water hower pressure is awesome and it's great for the price. If you have kids the rooms are great.

I booked 2 rooms for 2 nights. Not expecting much as we just needed somewhere to sleep on a business trip. I didn’t have any problems with the place but my colleague hated it. Here’s what I liked: - Location is convenient to everything - Parking is right outside your door - Beds are comfortable enough - Rooms were dark and quiet during our stay - The pub is 20m away from your room - All staff we met were wonderful - I even bought a tshirt 🤣 What my colleague didn’t like: - TV was tiny - His freezer had old beer cans that’d exploded - Room stank of beer as it’d run out onto carpet - Face towel was filthy - Fire alarm was hanging off roof - No kettle in his room - Fan cover fell off ceiling onto his head - Beds looked like they’d been slept in already - Outdoor furniture was disgusting - He didn’t buy a tshirt 🤣 Basically don’t expect too much and you’ll be fine.

We went here for lunch on a Sunday because we didnt think anything else was open.Had a drink from the public bar and ordered a fish and chips and a side salad thinking that we would share the meal and would need extra salad. It took a LONG time for the meal to arrive but it was huge with a large salad so I got the side salad in a takeaway container,It wasnt a cheap meal but the size and quality was a good surprise.I dont think I would go there again as eating in the back beer garden wasnt very nice but the food was good

We were recommend by friends to stop in for dinner on our way up north, I had the burger with the lot was good juicy and very filling, 16yr old had the meat lovers pizza one slice left, tasty and cheesy - good sizes too would come again! If you come around sunset ask to sit on the upstairs balcony was a perfect view 😊
