This was my second stay at the Marriott, as my family and I visited this time last year. The customer service was lacking from the moment I checked in to the moment I checked out. While I have a lot to say about the accommodations and overall experience, my biggest issue is around the transparency of my bill. I confirmed my accommodations with the check-in representative during the check in process and then went upstairs to find a much bigger room. When I went back downstairs to request my original accommodations, I was told I had been upgraded and would not be charged for it. The representative said he would make a note on my account. This proved to be untrue when I asked for a print out of my bill two days later. When I spoke to the representative at the front desk, they told me that to make up the difference, they would "comp" two nights of my stay. They said they would make a note on my account. When I asked for a printout of my bill two days after that and there were no changes and I was still being charged and had no "comped" nights, I spoke to the front desk representative and was told that the notes "would appear at check out." At check out, I was told that my signature was on file and that I would not get a print out of my bill. I asked for one. The amount of my stay had doubled from the previous day with no explanation. When I went through the conversations I had with each representative previously, the representative told me that the total on my bill would not be the total amount that would be charged to my credit card. I expressed that this didn't make sense to me and asked if there was someone else I could speak to. I spoke to a female manager who was incredibly rude, condescending, and told me I should have "stayed in a smaller room." I've been back from my stay at the Marriott for about a week and continue to receive charges from the Marriott. I've called them directly since returning home and they said there's nothing that they can do because I "requested an upgrade," which I did not. The bill was not transparent and I was unable to ever get a clear answer from anyone that I spoke to. I plan to stay elsewhere next time I visit.
