For a hotel advertised as "luxury" I had high expectations going there. I spent a total of 9 days in Colombia, the first 5 days in Medellin, stayed at 3 different hotels ( The Charlee, Bosko and Elcielo) they were all great experiences. They definitely provided great service and also provided me with a small birthday token whether a cake or champagne, as I made it known on my reservation that it was my birthday. My last 4 days were in Cartagena at Casa Lola and I'm disappointed ( they did not acknowledge anything about my birthday either plus the experience was overall not great-see below). The hotel has cute decor if all you care about are pics. The staff were friendly Analise at the restaurant, Cristian, Benjamin and Limbardo* from front desk. Initially my vacation was going great coming from Medellin and still on my birthday high, so major issues that I would normally complain and make a big deal about I was over looking. I never made a complaint until one major thing happened that was the straw that broke the camel's back and now I feel compelled to do a review about my overall stay at the hotel. When I think luxury hotel, I don't envision roaches in my hotel room. Especially for a hotel that cost an average of $408 per night. We had to ensure at all times that our suitcases and shoes were never on the ground. I will attach pictures of the roach crawling. You might asked why did I not complain Initially, I don't believe that the roaches were unique to just room 17, that would mean trying to find a last minute hotel and disputing my room charges and possibly ruining the rest of my trip.. There were other things I could nit pick about such as breakfast service being slow and not acknowledging my bday, the cable doesn't work and the internet goes in and out etc. but those were miniscule compared to my major concern. On March 3rd I lost my pair of Dior sunglasses, they cost about $700 USD, I was coming from walled city and stopped at a BanColombia ATM, which is where I believe they fell. Ok, at first I was pissed that I lost them however I refused to let that ruin my birthday trip my outlook was no life lost it could have been worse. So I got back to the hotel trying to relax a bit and then get ready for dinner. I got a call from Limbardo at front desk asking if I lost a pair of Dior sunglasses, I responded YES I did. I told him that I would pick them up either on my way to or from dinner, which my reservation was at 9:30pm and this conversation was occurring at about 7:45 pm or so. Limbardo then asked if I could come now, without hesitation I went downstairs. AT ABSOLUTELY NO POINT IN THIS CALL DID HE SET EXPECTATIONS WITH ME THAT THE TAXI DRIVER WAS THERE WAITING AND THAT HE LIMBARDO DID NOT HAVE THE PHYSICAL SUNGLASSES. So once I got downstairs I saw the taxi driver that had brought us to the atm and the hotel sitting there, it wasn't just a hand over of my sunglasses. He showed me a picture of another taxi driver in my glasses in a
