The Editory by the Sea is in a great location on the eastern side at the top of the Troia peninsula. Very good service in the hotel, all the staff helpful. Our room was classed as an apar**ent, however it was really a big - ish bedroom with a sink and basic cooking facilities. But for what we wanted it was ideal, comfy bed, good shower, good WiFi, balcony with a great view overlooking the Sado estuary (on the east side of the hotel). Clean and well maintained. The food was very good, excellent breakfast, apart from the coffee from the flasks, I would recommend you ask for a coffee from the machine. We ate dinner here twice and it was very good. The location is about 200mtrs from the passenger ferry to Setubal, which is a fun thing to do for an evening in Setubal. Also walking distance from a really lovely beach. There is limited parking unless you choose to park underground at 9€ a day, we went in May and the only time we couldn't park in the car park was at the weekend. The troia mariner is again about 200mtrs, it has a few bars and restaurants, some of which hadn't as yet opened for the summer, good views out over the bay. Some of the other buildings in Troia are somewhat stark ie the conference centre and ****** so it is slightly unusual architecturally but otherwise a great location.

My wife and I were guests of this hotel for 10 days at the beginning of November 2023. We were participants in a golf training week initiated by our local golf pro. Our apar**ent was on the 9th floor of the building, which has a total of 16 floors. The furnishings were very simple, everything in good condition and very clean. There was nothing to complain about. We were booked as a group with half board. Breakfast was fine, nothing special. Dinner was served as a 4-course menu. After the starter came the fish course, then meat and then dessert. The portions were more than plentiful, sometimes unfortunately a bit cold, which was probably because the kitchen team was a bit overwhelmed with the number of guests (apart from us, there were groups from Holland and Norway with 20 people each). It was noticeable that there were almost no vegetables apart from potatoes. At our suggestion, a kind of ratatouille was served the next day. The day after that, again no vegetables. The half-board also included wine, beer, water, soft drinks and coffee during the meal. The staff were friendly when serving drinks. The staff - both at reception and in the restaurant - were very friendly overall.

Good overall quality and cleanliness of the facilities. Spacious room with a small kitchen and spacious bathroom. Nice location as expected in Tróia. Nearby the Marina restaurants. A good option to be based and visit Comporta and Carvalhal areas and beaches.
