Centrally located. Traditional hotel. Reception is at the 2nd floor but can be reached by elevator if you use the rear entrance (otherwise use a small staircase down). Large and clean room and ensuite bathroom. We were at the 7th floor, without the views, but away from street noise. Nice buffet breakfast, with lots of options. Friendly staff. Close to restaurants and pubs.

We spent two nights at this lovely hotel a few days ago. The room was large and the bed extremely comfortable. We were there on a Saturday night when the city was very crowded and lots of celebrations (hen parties all over the place!) were going on. The hotel fronts on St Mary’s St but with the a/c and thick windows we slept soundly through all the street noise. The hotel is well-staffed: all were courteous and helpful.

Extremely well place in the centre of Cardiff, 5 minutes' walk from the train station. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the room was comfortable, and breakfast buffet had lots of options and tasted great. Friday and Saturday nights are quite a party in Cardiff St Mary Street, but we were on the 4th Floor and only heard a little noise that didn't disturb our sleep.

The Royal is in a good central location, easy walking distance from Cardiff Central station and ideal for a City break. We found the staff friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable with adequate air conditioning. Good English breakfast.

i found this hotel and can only feedback on what i have been told I booked this for my elderly mum and a friend for a 2 day break the hotel was walking distance from the train station which the taxi driver failed to tell them They found all the hotel staff really friendly and said the rooms were ideal and the breakfast was perfect and if they returned they would stay here again
