Canto de Luz - Luxury Maison

This is a boutique hotel that’ll I describe as a beautiful hidden gem. Fantastic staff, fantastic location, fantastic room and absolutely amazing breakfast and tapas. Michaela you were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a fantastic stay

All the reviews are true! Great location, lovely staff, well equipped room with Alexa, great bed, excellent communication, great dining suggestions and booking assistance, good streaming and channels, wine dispenser, filling breakfast etc. Could have stayed forever in the room on 3rd floor overlooking the road. Well done!

Great hotel in Porto. A little bit off the main attractions but very nice and clean. The staff is very young and could seem a little aloof and chaotic at times. Unfortunately many of them don’t speak Portuguese. I would definitely stay back here if they keep the current prices

Great boutique hotel. Good location, very clean, spacious room, great breakfast. Also the most digitally integrated hotel I've ever stayed at. The front desk was also very helpful with restaurant recommendation. They also packed us breakfast on our last day there for an early flight. I would highly recommend for your trip to Porto!

Canto de Luz was one of the best accommodations we've ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived, we loved it. We were greeted by the most welcoming staff and were treated to coffee while waiting for our room to be ready. Our room was the most spacious apartment we could have asked for. They thought of everything! The "smart home" technology in the room was extra fun for us to play around with. During our stay, the staff went out of their way to accommodate some of our special circumstances when it came to travel plans. I also booked transport to and from the airport through Canto de Luz and it went seamlessly. We also loved the Magic Wine Fridge that Canto de Luz offers! It was such a fun welcome surprise to get a free tasting. We will be back!

A fabulous find. The hotel is hidden slightly away from the main tourist attractions which makes it quiet and peaceful but it is only a few minutes walk to almost anywhere you want to go! The space is uplifting; the staff are all brilliant and the breakfasts are definitely the best ........

Very nice hotel!

My friend booked this requesting twin beds. There was one double surrounded by black walls and a mattress on an extended part of a sofa, see photos. My friend slept in the double bed and said it was 'pitch black' when the lights went out. Although I preferred the extended sofa, it wasn't comfortable. Everything is electric and whilst we were able to turn the lights out, randomly the bathroom, which is at the end of a long corridor, came on in the night. We set the heating to 24 just to get them on but the radiators didn't respond so the room was cold. We were unable to turn them on manually. It comes with a washing machine and dish washer, neither had been used. Surprisingly there's no extended washing line in the shower room as you sometimes have in hotels. Every door into the property was opened with your room code. We watched with amusement as four sets of people, couples & solo tried and failed to open an external door to the breakfast room. The breakfast was very good and service is with great care, hence it's slow. The staff were very helpful in recommending good local restaurants and the location is good. It's also very clean. The intension is positive but it fails to deliver. If you're friends who require twin beds or of an age where you prefer switches to all electric I'd give Canto de Luz a miss.

We stayed here for 2 nights in May. We took a train from Lisbon to Porto station in the afternoon and then took a taxi from the station to the apartment. The sign for the apartment is not very clear, and it’s a bit tough to identify it on Google maps. We booked a few taxis and somehow the drivers always dropped us a little behind or a little forward each time. BF: The bf was really really good, 5 stars for sure. Loved the bf service and the fresh fruits and a different sweet they served, freshly baked. There are various choices of eggs and granola as well that you can order. My favourite was the freshly squeezed orange juice and Latte. Location: I would give the location about 2/3 stars. Next time I would probably stay close to the Duoro river and the Luis bridge. This was about 15 min walk from there, not so far. Porto is a beautiful and small city that you can easily explore on foot. Room: Great size, good toiletries. No view as far as I know (atleast ours was downstairs so there was no view) Customer service: Excellent.
