Nice place to walk around. Also good place for Dining . Had lunch , the staff was courteous, the food was hot and fresh. post lunch u can sit the beautiful garden and get some nice sun . Be careful , lot of monkeys around , could attack you, if you carry food articles outside. The place was also nicely maintained , it has been host to movie shooting , the most recent and famous has been 3 ****** . good time , happy they charge entry fees which dissuades gate crashers.

No choice in food. Unmaintained property Rooms stink... Only king's and queen's rooms were good. Raajkumari, rajkumar, vazeer , all were too bad. We were 10 members. We rented 5 rooms. One of five rooms was vazir. It was too small like a servant's room. Its bedsheet was stained. N carpet was dusty and dirty. They have no standard of cleanliness. They charge nearly 20 to 24k per night ... but not at all worth. We spoult out money ... thatswhat we felt. Becs it is government property, nobody will listen to u in actual. Their outer behavior is v good but they dont actually adjust or help. Dont stay there.

I have stayed at ***y HPTDC properties but didnot like this one at all. Firstly, if you are booking log huts etc, please note that they are good 600-70 metres away from main palace where reception and dining hall are located. Also, the access road to log huts etc is a narrow road which will be difficult to negotiate for inexperienced hill drivers...especially if there are elder people who will fin it hard to walk 600-700 metres for food etc. This so called road has no side railing either which makes it bit dangerous if you have to take car out during night. For the price they are charging, the least they can do is put up a safety railing ! Expect only tea-coffee and water as "room service" as you will be told to have food at dinner hall only so forget snacks etc in room. We faced inclement weather and thought to order dinner in room but there was no use. And I didnt want to drive on this stretch ..in rain and dark. So, we had to walk till the dinner hall. And after all this, if you ask for help from the reception for a drop back to the room/ log hut during rain...you will be asked - "What! You didnt bring your car !". I have driven to *** etc but even I resisted taking car out for a drive on a narrow dirt trail during rain and dark . I suggest to book at seom other property at Chail. This HPTDC is not worth it.

The first thing one must mention is that even in the super crowded times, Chail remains largely peaceful. The weekend rush from Chandigarh cannot be avoided, but its a small fraction of what one experiences in Shimla or other locations. The palace hotel used to be the only luxury property in the area. That is not the case any more. The hotel still exudes its warmth. The staff is overworked but super efficient. The food is good. The billiards room could do with a new cloth. We stayed in the Maharani suite, which is large and very comfortable. The heritage fixtures took our breath away. The upholstery and the furnishings were also good. The staff is pleasant and helpful. This is a good place to spend a peaceful, relaxed weekend with the family.

Chail Palace is a property run by HPTDC.The property has the worst food, worst breakfast ***** with the worst service you can imagine. We booked the placed thinking it was a well run heritage property like Neemrana Fort Palace,we paid 11500 per night for the best room they had little did I was I was in for the worst experience I could think of.Dont waste precious Time and money for this mis***aged property instead go for Reputed brands like Taj or Radisson.

No need to Stay here. Its a old and small palace where anyone can visit by pay Rs 200 per person. We booked here Princess Suit for 2 Nights and stay was a proper Nightmare. First we have been allotted Ground Floor Room and whole day general visitors knocked our door and we were totally frustrated. After requesting, ***ager changed the room to first floor and there also routine visitors weretaking photographs. The Garden you see in pics is always full of general visitors from morning to evening. Parking is also full with general visitors and there is no separate parking available for Resident Guests. Same issue with Restaurent, filled with visitors. No space for residents. Rooms are very old and have seepage issues. There is no Fan or AC available in any room, air circulation is a big issue here. You can't open the windows due to monkeys and lots of insacts. Sleepless nights a common here. Don't think that 75 Acre property is for you, its all different- different locations on a mountain with roads. One more important information- Cafe is dedicated for general visitors and have low quality food. Totally waste of time and money. Will never come again for sure.
