Great location and reasonable parking fee are a big plus for this historic Inn. Very friendly staff. Simple continental breakfast and wine, cheese and cookies at 5:00 make for a pleasant stay. Hotel is undergoing major renovations so I would check to see if their amenities change in the future. It appears that the lobby will retain some of its period charm but it seems the rooms may not. They are adding a bar and food service. I would stay here again provided things don't change too much.

We used to love going here a few times a year. They have since painted all the beautiful natural brick white and raised the prices. Why they would do that, I have no idea. Blah. Now we go somewhere else.

Incredible unique historic building with very high ceilings, chandeliers, paintings, massive woodwork, a treasure of a place!

The staff were all very helpful and informative. Unfortunately the hotel was under renovations and we had not been aware of this when we made the booking. So several services like the fitness Center were not available.

Extensive building work going on in the lobby with the constant noise of drilling and hammering. I literally could not hear what the receptionist was saying to be as I complained at check out due to the noise from the builders. And that was at 10am Sunday morning. Felt tricked as their website should be warning of major disruption due to building works!! They are also one of these hotels who won’t service your room unless you ask for it. We asked for it when we checked in and it still was not cleaned for us !!

Great place to stay for our first visit to Charleston. Although this property is currently undergoing renovations it had very little effect on our stay. Our room was clean, spacious, comfortable & quiet. It looked like you would imagine old Charleston to look. We hope they keep this character.
If you see Johnni, smile & say “Hi!” She is the best and will make you feel right at home.
