Elegant, peaceful, beautifully located — great for cooling breezes from the water. I traveled alone and the kind staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Lovely room in carriage house with good bed, super shower, great lighting, well placed hooks, good desk and comfortable seating. I liked the continental breakfast and a little bonus was the wine and cheese hour at 17:00—perfect after a long day of touring. Most charming and truly would come back to enjoy this lovely place in this most interesting city.

Incredibly beautiful Charleston Mansion right on the Battery with full access to thd house and gardens. Breakfast to order and wine and cheese brought to you wherever in the house you may be in the evening. Staff is is attentive and helpful and restorationof the house is so impressive, you feel like royalty for sure. Comfortable rooms with all modern ammenities make for a need not met. Loved our time there and thankful for the opportunity.

My wife and I stayed here for our 10-year Anniversary in May. We come to Charleston every five years (we love the city). WHAT A GEM! We stayed in the Devereux Suite (formal wine cellar). It was such a comfortable and elegant suite, and we will stay in that exact suite when we return (not if we return, when we return. Must emphasize that!). We wished we had more time to just stay around the mansion (we only stayed 3 nights). The wine and cheese hour is simply amazing, and we highly recommend you plan on attending that the whole hour during your stay. The staff was as friendly and helpful as you could ever wish for when you visit a place like this. If I could rate this more than 5-stars, I would. This is where you want to stay if you're visiting the amazing city of Charleston!

Our hostess at check in was wonderful…showed us around the property, helped us to our room, brought us a glass of wine. Checked on our dinner reservations…made us feel welcome…thank you.
The bed was so comfortable. The shower in the bathroom was wonderful. The property grounds are beautiful. Love the location.

You really cannot ask for more...the location, the view, the convenience, the charm, and the friendly staff. This was my first time here, and here for work, but I will be back again and again. Such a true gem of Charleston, and I am so glad I found this hotel!

This is a remarkable, unique property in Charleston, right down on the Battery. It's a historic home that has been lovingly and beautifully restored. It is spectacular. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable and helpful. If you are looking for something special, this is it.
