A great hotel with a great location, a strong sense of history, and very good service. It’s just that parking is a bit expensive, only $40 a car🤪🤪🤪

I strongly recommend this hotel in Charleston. Very comfortable and friendly. Excellent location. Good value for money, although the valet car parking service at $40 / day was steep (there are other parking facilities available nearby for less). I would return to stay at Planters each time I go to Charleston

Planters Inn located at the epicenter of Charleston presents its accommodations as top class, Relais et Chateaux. The pictures are convincing; the reality was not, at least for us. Only the bath for our modest room had any upgrade or style. The small bedroom had mismatched, somewhat worn furnishings, an excellent king bed too large for the space, and one chair. The beautiful rooms we saw online must have been in another part of the hotel - a bitter realization for an anniversary stay, and an expensive one. A big plus is the fine staff and The Planters Grill, a traditional, quality restaurant with marvelous wine list and fine breakfast. Be careful to secure the accommodation you want before finalizing booking.

Planter's Inn and Peninsula restaurant are absolutely phenomenal! Easily 5 stars across the board! The staff is amazing, beautiful rooms and the food at Peninsula is second to none.

We love staying here. The location was central to everything! We were created by very kind of staff members who went out of their way to help us feel welcome and well taken care of. The room was spacious and beautiful and very clean. Anyone would be happy to stay here!

I think on our next stay to Charleston we will try another hotel. We booked the "Governor's Suite" which looked great but ended up feeling like a basement room with only 2 small 2'x2' windows. They hide that from you during the booking and sadly made little effort to fix on our arrival. Nice room but not worth the big $. Location of hotel is in the t-shirt and trinkets tourist section of Charleston. I'd keep searching.
