HIlton Garden Inn Charleston Waterfront/Downtown

Trying to get up to the hotel room was confusing and wasn’t made clear to us at check in. Only certain elevators went to certain floors, and hauling all of our stuff and 3 kids made this a hassle. Hotel was nice but pricey for what you get/location. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

We had a not great experience when our airpods were taken out of a bag in our room. We tracked them on our phone from the hotel to an address in North Charleston. If you stay here you should definitely take precautions to lock up your valuables or not leave your belongings in the hotel room unattended.

The team was truly excellent—warm and hospitable. We told them we were celebrating and they took fantastic care of us. Great parking options. However the hotel itself has some issues. The doors aren’t well done and you can very clearly hear conversations from the corridor. The bed was very uncomfortable.

Staff was excellent! Close to Hospital for my appointment.

I have been remiss in writing this review sooner… I had traveled to Charleston to visit my best friend whom was receiving care at the nearby Cancer Treatment Campus. A sudden, unexpected stage 4 diagnosis and I was devastated for him. I had chosen this hotel due to it’s proximity to the hospital… within walking distance. I booked online and checked in and was a bit disorientated at the time. I had returned from the hospital and had gone to the desk in tears as I needed to extend my stay due to the dire situation. The Front Office Manager named Danet Jenkins, could not have been more understanding and accommodating, an absolute ray of sunshine and hope for me at that moment (and the duration of my visit). Since I had booked online with a 3rd party, there were restrictions for extending my stay as well as the hotel being booked out. Danet was able to do some finagling (?) and not only did she extend my stay, she told me I was eligible for a lower rate as I was visiting my friend at the local hospital. What an angel she was and a fantastic representation for the Hilton brand!!! I hope she still is employed with Hilton Garden… she’s an asset!

Overall, this was a very nice stay. Appreciated the fact the parking was secure and free as opposed to some of the other nearby hotels. Quite an easy drive from the hotel to downtown Charleston. The only drawback was the room could’ve used a little maintenance. Some of the wallpaper was peeling and there was paint splatter on what appeared to be new tile in the bathroom. But I guess that’s what you get when you get a pet friendly room. Just grateful that we could bring our four-legged family with us.

I had the BEST experience at Hilton Garden Inn, I was greeted by an employee Johnathan who truly made my stay AMAZING and top tier. Johnathan went above and beyond to make my family and I feel welcomed, and even suggested activities todo in charleston. I would recommend this hotel to anyone because of him!

The hotel and parking are easy to find. The parking is free for hotel guests. Once I entered the lobby, I noticed how open and well-lit it was in the reception area. The reception staff is very professional, friendly, and helpful. On the way up to the room I had to change elevators. The one I used only went to the 2nd floor. Later I found the correct elevator and didn’t have to make the change. The room was open and roomy. Our balcony was adequate for us to sit outside and enjoy the day. The view was not the best but the room was great. Our bed was comfortable. It was firm but not hard. There was a soft and medium firm pillow on each side of the bed. It had the standard size closet. There is plenty of room in the dresser and night stands to put my clothes. The desk is large enough to work on my computer without running out of space. I was disappointed there were no USB ports by the desk or bed stands. Make sure you bring a plug-in phone charger. The room chair and the desk chair was comfortable. The bathroom was large enough to move around. The shower was large enough to comfortably shower. I would like to have had two sinks in the bathroom and an adjustable mirror on the wall. I did have a problem with the height of the toilet. It was extremely low making it difficult to get up. Overall, I am happy with my stay. It was pleasant, comfortable, and close to my intended destination.

The staff was nice the room was clean , no special area for dogs . Was charged cleaning fee of 75$ for each of my dogs and had to.pay for breakfast . I will most certainly nevver stay there again
