Friendly staff and lovely food

Room quite worn out but clean bathroom.

I had a long day and really needed something to eat. But there was a function and a packed bar. I stood for 10 minutes to get served and then gave up and went out to local shop to get a sandwich which I ate in the room.

Very hot…….poor ventilation…….furniture very run down.

This was a last minute booking and I was pleasantly surprised, I was able to charge my car…, for free, no parking charge either. The receptionist was welcoming and bar staff were friendly. Hotel room was perfect and beds super comfy!

If you have an allergy avoid. Food was poor, over the 4 evening meals all the veg put together would not have been anymore than 1 meal at home. I was told 3/4 times the chocolate brownie, then became a brownie was safe for me to eat. I can't do dairy or chocolate. it went back and forth to the chef, telling the poor chap that it was ok for me to eat. It smelt of chocolate, I knew it was a chocolate brownie, other members on my table were eating. I had to get angry with him said it Chocolate I am not eating in. the table so packed in you couldn't get passed, how the poor staff managed I don't know. If there had been a fire most wouldn't have got out mostly elderly with walking issues. I said this to a member of staff, she said not normally this packed, well it only takes one incident and that was one waiting to happen, Running out of drinks behind the bar, no marmalade, no orange juice. What you chose the night before, wasn't exactly as expected, I wish I had kept a copy of my nights choices just to prove my point. Had 4 short breaks in the last couple of months this is the worst and supposed to be 4 star, I dispute this. Its not the staffs fault they are working flat out, overworked and all very polite under the circumstances. Missed the rolls being given out prior to dinner, asked for one reply not sure if we have anymore. What they know how many people are in. One was produced. Had to chase my starter rest of table nearly finished. Others had to chase meals as other table members nearly finished. Hotel is a total shamble.

Last minute one night spa visit booked. Arrived 5pm and checked in with access to room and spa facilities. Room facilities fine. Powerful shower, hairdryer, comfortable bed and tea/coffee. Visit to spa Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Fairly quiet in the morning. Pool warm and clean. Changing areas are filthy-no fault of the hotel-guests just leave towels and robes on the floor or on changing benches when there's lots of laundry baskets, they are just left there all day. Pre booked set menu dinner for 7.30pm, arrived early and seated quickly with a drink. Time slowed down from there... only one waitress serving. Waited ages to order, longer for food and another drink. Food was good and good value for set menu. Staff are more focused on the big party events in the suites. Okay value for price paid. Would return for spa access. Also near to Ashford Designer Outlet for an afternoon visit.

Wow very friendly stuff very helpful lovely young lady on reception blonde think her name was Demi deffo stay here again made me feel very welcome with my children the swimming was lovely children enjoyed the pool area as was quite fir them and relaxing for me xxx
