Not a good stay, we only booked this hotel because we needed a two-night stopover and only planned to be at the hotel to sleep. I knew this wouldn't be a great hotel as it wasn't expensive.
The negatives - of the two beds in our first room one had fresh bedding one had bedding that didn't look like it had been changed in a while. We didn't complain and stayed in the clean bed. Then the TV started playing up and the toilet started leaking. We contacted reception who changed us to a new room but couldn't confirm until the following morning if we could use it for the second night. The second room had no hot water during night one but we gave up and used it.
The positive - the guy in reception was very good at dealing with us and the other people in front of me in the queue of people complaining. He did all he could. He was also dealing with the bar and acting as the server for the food at the same time. He was also dealing with the reception the second morning.

Started to worry over the reviews but my wedding couldn’t of gone any better from start to finish Nikki made sure everything was fine the whole day the food was lovely and soo much there , even the Buffett we had loads and loads left over room was lovely clean pillows clean sheets and pure white towels staff was more then accommodating anything you asked for they done

After looking at the reviews for this hotel, some good, some not so good. Went with an open mind. Well, firstly it’s so friendly and welcoming. Secondly it’s an old building, historical and very handy for getting anywhere local. We stayed for two nights for my second cousins wedding, which they did so lovely, and the food was second to none, nothing too much trouble for the staff to do for you, also the buffet in the evening was superb, so much food with lots left over. We had breakfast and learnt if you want more you mark it on the paper provided at the table, i.e two sausages, two eggs, extra bacon ect. The staff, were brilliant, especially Sophie and Niki, thank you both for your help,and the two people at reception and man who came to sort out our tv in 108, then offered us another room because of tv but we declined, and then later the lady who lent me a hairdryer as ours in the room did not work. The cook for breakfast, lovely lady…..would stay again anytime.

We were disappointed with the cleanliness, warmth and service from this hotel. The breakfast was not a full English, more a half English. The beds were lumpy. We found a grape behind the bedside cabinet. The breakfast room was freezing cold. The car park was really small and accessed via a very steep slope. Spaces were not reserved for those staying there so when we returned one evening there was no space due to there being two parties being held at the hotel. We will not be returning

Good position close to Chatham station. Also within waking distance of restaurants etc at Rochester. Spacious room. Friendly staff. Nice cooked breakfast. We found it easy to get to Chatham Historic docks via frequent bus service or walking.
