Belgrave Hotel

Booked in APRIL to stay the end of August for the Bank Holiday weekend, as Iv brought tickets to an event in Chester. June 29 at 20:30 I get an email saying the Belgrave habe cancelled my booking. No explanation why..... Just cancelled. Well thanks for that. Now I have to try and find somewhere else to stay. Whish me look to try and find somewhere on a summer Bank Holiday now. Really not happy!!

The hotel is being used for homeless people. I booked a room for the 28th August (Bank Holiday Weekend) on ********** to find my booking had been cancelled when I went to check. On trying to contact the venue all I got was an invalid number. On seeing the reviews on here I knew that I was not going to be staying here. Awful customer service from the hotel and ********** for not even calling or emailing to allow us to book somewhere else in a suitable time frame.

Sadly I book April for the 26th of June and received an email to say they were cancelling the booking. Now I will not be able to attend my friend's wedding anniversary as everywhere else that is reasonably priced is fully booked. I wouldn't use the hotel ever again as it's left me in an awful predicament. But I suppose to get what I tried to pay and other people attending this event have had the same done to them. No reason for cancellation was given.

Hotel is operating as a homeless shelter, booked through lastminute.com paid £150 for 2 nights for a trip to Chester races the following day, was greeted by a lady I can only assume was high on *****, a cloud of smoke and a strong smell of ******** when she opened the door and also watched as 2 "homeless" people walked out and passed her some cash. She told us if we paid her £200 cash we could stay the 2 nights there !! told her I had paid online and would not be prepared to pay again especially for a homeless hostel, I would of rather of slept in the bus station for the night. We had to travel back to Liverpool and pay for trains again the following day. I was told by lastminute.com they would investigate and issue me a refund, spoke to them again this morning and was told they had been in contact with the hotel ( don't know how as they don't have a working phone number or emails address ) to be told the hotel apparently gave me a cash refund at the door. No one took my name or booking details. the whole situation is disgusting. Wouldn't want anyone else to experience this so please AVOID !!!!!! would give zero stars if possible

Was due to go on the 4th September for a wedding, booked through **********. Got a refund from ********** for the booking but no email from the hotel. Been told this hotel is currently been used as a homeless shelter. Can not get another hotel on the date for less than £130 this originally cost me £45 . Not a happy chappie. Gave it 1 because you can’t give 0

Booked on ***********, received confirmation. Turned away at the door as they are not taking bookings as they are accommodating the homeless!!! Who knows why they are still on ***********. Tried to ring prior to visiting, phone not in order, no response to email. Thankfully found another room last minute. I feel sorry for the people who are not phone and booking savvy as they would have been sleeping in their car!!!
