Me and 7 golf friends do a yearly guys trip, but this year we decided to do a city trip instead, so we chose Chicago. We all wanted our own rooms, we planned to do nothing more than get overserved at Chicago’s legendary bars, restaurants and ball parks so we didn’t need spa’s and workout rooms and big restaurants, so I opted for a boutique experience instead. The hotel itself is located in an IDEAL location for tourism- a long half-block away from the Rush/Division St entertainment corridor, but being a long half block away meant it was till quiet at 2:00 am. You’re two blocks away from the Red Line, meaning you’re a short ride north to Lincoln Park, Lake View and Wrigleyville, or a short ride south to Rover North, Grant Park (the Bean, Art Institute, Buckingam Fountain/The heart of Lollapalooza), and even further south to Even Midway airport via an easy Orange to Red transfer. The check in for the Claridge House was super easy and we were greeted in their deco-forward lobby/bar/coffee bar by friendly staff. We never had to wait more than a couple minutes for a fast and reliable elevator. In the morning, you are a two minute jog to the Lake Shore Drive running path to the East and two minutes jogging to beautiful Lincoln Park as well. The rooms were quaint and well-decorated, with a flat screen tv, a small desk where I spent too much time working instead of exploring, and a good sized bathroom with updated design. The bed was also incredibly comfortable which was great for the multiple hangovers. Highly recommend staying here whether for a group or per business travel
