I stay downtown 15-20 nights year with work, and this is a great consistent spot - comfortable, plenty of room to work, and perfect location for getting around the Loop (with a taxi stand 25’ from the hotel entrance).

The bad- bugs in apple juice. Breakfast was not hot, had to put in microwave. Heat didn't work for a short time. Once we wanted a latte and bartender wouldn't make us one. The other nights the other bartenders did. No view, just an office building. The good - all staff were very friendly. Got the heat situation fixed right away. Got two free bottles of water everyday and I'm just a member. Free breakfast had lots of choices including healthy choices. Asked for extra blankets and got them right away. Only .5 miles from Union station. Very walkable to many places. I even walked back from Shedd Aquarium. I would stay here again.

The hotel was fine. It wasn't anything exceptional, but it served it's purpose. The room was spacious! Two beds and a comfortable couch (did not pull it out). There didn't seem to be bedding for the pull out couch (this is usually in the closet). The beds were some of the worst I've slept on in a hotel. Literally a mattress and a frame. The air in the room was so dry, it made it difficult to sleep comfortably. It felt safe and secure though as the room key was needed to operate the elevator whether going up or down. $75 hold on the credit card for incidentals. Parked in the deck across the street and it was VERY secure.
